What exactly is the point of this now?!! Everybody already knows the offence it has caused them. By continuing to protest they are starting to come across as a load of whingers who need a sense of humour!

Further more surely the banning of Danish goods in some countries is violating trade agrements? Anybody know if this is so?

We should stand by Denmark in the face of this and buy Danish goods! I for one have a pack of Carslberg export sat chilling in the fridge!! :-D

Just cause they have expressed their opinion they must stop? The right for peaceful protest is one that should be protected. To use an example, the civil rights movement in the US didn't protest just the once in order to avoid appearing as 'whiners' did they?

They aren't banned, the people just won't buy them, therefore no agreements are violated.

Support Denmark, don't support Denmark, either way, it's damn good beer.

The civil rights movement were protesting against something a bit more serious than a few cartoons don't you think? Also their protests did not involve the burning of embassies and churches!!!

Of course they have the right to protest, I can understand the continued protests about Iraq, but this is just a few cartoons we are talking about!! Heaven help us if it had been animated!!!!

Only to you and me. These people take their religion very seriously, and until they start hurting people they should be allowed to wander around the streets as much as they like.

Also, as far as I am aware, they have yet to burn embassies in London.

Again, they take their religion seriously, it's up to them is they want to protest.

Granted!! However I don't think we are going to be seeing any more cartoons of the prophet in the near future do you? Therefore the continued protesting in this instance is pointless!!

Who knows what the future holds, yet again i'll say, if they want to protest then go for it.

There have been people protesting the Iraq war in the square outside the House of Commons for years, it's not going to change much unfortunately and I doubt we'll invade Iraq a third time, it's just a way of expressing your feelings about something you feel strongly about.

Yes but people are dying in Iraq!!! It's a little more serious. Actually and rather ironically people are dying from protesting against the cartoons. I caught something on the news about Nigeria.

As far as i am aware is it only Iran as a country that has a ban something along the lines of $200 Million a year from Denmark, but they are not a full member of the WTO and as such will not have broken there requirment to maintain a 'Most Favoured Nation' status with Denmark who are member therefor no law has been broken, I think.

But yes while it is a bit stupid, i just try to remember those RE leasons i had all those years ago and 'Islam is not just a religon it is a way of life'. But sure if they want to protest fine with me as long as i can still move around London easly (well as easly as you can move arounf London) and nothing starts burning then i could not careless people will start ignoring them soon.

Indeed the difference in reactions between "the West" and "Islam" on this has been so diverse that its been really quite enlightening. Now in retaliation to the Denmark cartoons Iran wants to host a Holocaust denial cartoon contest.

The Western response? "meh".

The Israeli reaction? On many accounts, to... join in. Israel is after all hosts the largest collection of Holocaust denial literature in the world (since in supposedly free nations like Austria denial is a criminal offence) The difference between the value systems of the two societies couldn't be clearer

Maybe Mr Irving should have done some research before he left the UK and gone to Israel instead to further enhance his agenda than facing three years imprisionment in Austria. And whether he would have survived living in Israel is another story.

Irving is a t**t. Simple.

I love Danish goods, though im currently on dutch and french beer. Lurpak owns crude oil anyday.

Im so fed up with their overreactions, its not about the cartoons. Its about clerics wanting control!
