Some questions for the pyschologists among us...
To what extent is volition governed by unconscious urges? Can a human being actually make a conscious decision? Is the relationship between one’s conscious and unconscious self one-way -- does the unconscious govern the conscious (or vice versa)? Or is it, conversely, two-way -- can the conscious self affect the unconscious self and vice versa? |

I believe it's two way, but the unconcious can be accessed methodically (called trance formation) to elicit a specific and desired behavioral response sometime in the future, which, in such a case overrides conciousness.
But, in order to access the unconcious, the 'start game' begins with conciousness. |

Well, depending on your belief, you can view the conscious mind as something that can be tapped into over time to clarify your decisions. In many modern religions and ancient religion of Buddhism, your mind must be controlled by engaging in practices such as meditation. By controlling your mind, your unconscious part of self can be slowly diminished so when problems arise, your conscious mind can make decisions not based on past events or experiences that have formed your unconscious mind and therefore your unconscious decisions and actions. While I am only 15, I have found this belief to benefit me and make my mind much more aware and of more of its full potential. |

If our conscious is ruled by our sub-conscious, how do we know we are giving truthful replies here? Possibly our sub-conscious is playing a little joke on us by even making us reply to this forum, however maybe it isn't but it is influencing us to think these thoughts, this is one of the impossible questions of life. |

| The unconscious self and unconscious inhabitations all exist and are all present in our daily lives. The only thing that stops us from acting on those desires is our conception of society and governmental laws. Take away the social inhabitations, and all that's left is the individual and the individual desires. |
