Metaphors...

To take a book of morality as a book of science is to misuse it severely.

i just recently heard the aim of the early marriage was that aisha being so young meant that she could learn more quickly and easily and that she will be able to tell with good memory unlike older people......if you look closely many of the hadiths come from aisha, especailly the one's that talk about the prophet's life and way of living, ect....

i think it makes sense since we do have a saying in arabic by the meaing that learning in childhood is like sculpting in a rock

Aisha married at a young age to learn from the Prophet (pbuh). And yes, you are 100% correct, especially on the Hadith part.

Plus it was a marriage to strengthen ties at first considering who his wife was.

People, we have a winner. You hit the nail on the head--early arranged marriages were often made for political purposes and Ayisha was her father's daughter all the way.

Focusing on Ayisha rather hides in the background the fact that Christian royalty did exactly this same thing, and for the same reason.

I think so.

Brahmin practice, with strong analogy to Ayisha's and Christian royalty cases.

You can't really judge the past with todays values, attitudes we take for granted now did not always exist.Things like having many wives marrying young, even at 9.I don't see a scandal with this.

It's the same for having slaves, the morality of warfare at the time, not only in Islam but any other religion. It has to be viewed in context.

With that, I can agree with as well. It's usually subjective and from different POV's, as well as the context of the situation at the time, as you said.
