Start with the baseline of One China with 2 Chinese constitution regarding the talks between taiwan and mainland.
I hope both mainland and taiwan start preparing for this kind of talks.
2008 is fast approaching and by all signal, shows KMT Ma ying jeou leading any other by a wide margin to win the presidential election in the Republic of China.

 I think ONE CHINA has meant a lot.all other things are only about negotiation skill or "face".
beginning a negotiation with Taibei is a good pression to China mainland too.
No pay No gain. |

Actually, The CCP has already seek for This type of One China Two constituions between Mainland and TaiWan province.
TaiWan will get more autonomy freedom than HongKong.
At least this measure will bring peace between our Chinese. |

I guess thinking in both ways. Taiwan is the provice of ROC, but not the provice of PRC right now. Just that there's debate going on here. Former government was supposed to be Republic of China, however, it's overwhelmed by People's Republic of China after 1949.
Right now two governments are up.
Unfortunately Taiwan's the only territory left for ROC. There isn't much chance to take over mainland China anymore. Thus, ROC seeks for independance.
I guess Taiwan and China can be unionized like Europe, not necessary ROC become part of PRC or PRC become part of ROC |

I think it's not Chen SHuiBian not welcome any negotiation, it's that ON THE BASIS OPINION , Chen Shuibian and Hu Jintao have different standpoint.
Hu wants to set up negotation in terms of "ONE CHINA"
Chen wants to set up negotation in terms of "TWO CHINA or One Taiwan and One China"
Both of them hold their own ground. This is the reason why negotation can't even process. |
