I cannot get Acroread to open in firefox for linux.
I have it installed and it will open stand alone, but it will not cooperate to allow the plugin to be installed in firefox.
The firefox website says a script is instelled by default in:
/usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/Browser/install_browser_plugin
But it's not there whether I use RPM or tarball.
What am I doing wrong? |

In the terminal, do:
Code: sudo find / -name '*dobe' |

Apparently other Suse users are having the same problem as well. Here is a link to a webforum about the script.

| Shouldn't you be able to just manually add the plug in to any browser your using. Including the dreaded Konq? |

I looked but couldn't find out how. The plugin page at firefox only appears to support version 5.1 and I already have 7.0. I can open the downloaded pdfs with acroread and do whatever the menu's support.
Maybe if I uninstall 7 and reinstall from the plugin page, it will work. Seems easy enough.
I'll get back to everyone when I've made these suggestions from Proto, Enders and you work or fail and toss it back in the discussion.
Thanks guys. |
