Awhile ago I came across a pro-life website that displayed graphic images of abortion and also a movie. Are these forms of media legal?

Of course it should be legal, it's not like it's barbaric or anything, it's a simple medical procedure, which only occassionally requires a vacuum cleaner.

Well, I think the photos help to illustrate the barbaric nature of abortion. Limbs torn off of bodies, not barbaric? Wha????

Most medical procedures (especially surgery) are gross.

nice^

its true, as long as abortion is legal and doesnt count as murder, then of course its ok to show pictures. Its just pictures of an operation, not a death. Sad but true.

There's laws against displaying pictures of crime scenes?

I don't see why abortion pictures should be illegal at all. They are graphic and, in my opinion, used merely for the shock value. But, freedom of speech has the precendent here.

Not to mention, if you can't stand to witness the results of your policies, you have no business supporting them.

People who support wars should have to look at pictures of children with amputated limbs and pictures of the coffins of our fallen soldiers; people who support abortion (or abortion rights) should have to periodically review pictures of aborted fetuses.

It is a part of the price that people should have to pay for wielding power.

I wouldn't call it a medical procedure. Ever hear of something called the Hippocratic Oath?

I can't tell if that was meant seriously or was an attempt to be sarcastically witty.... I am hoping the latter...

Add to that watching the hungry and needy and unwanted struggle to survive. Also the suicides and contorted bodies of backstreet abortion victims.

You know, just to clarify something I think is a common feeling among us horrible pro-lifers: if someone is bound and determined to have an abortion then yes, we want it to be legal and safe. We'd just prefer that the act itself not be taken SO incredibly lightly that MILLIONS of abortions occur every year....

It's called "Personal Responsibility" - you want to act like an adult and be treated like one then expect to deal with the consequences of your actions. The same goes for people that have 5 kids before they are 25 and then expect a handout (welfare)....

Of course images are legal. In fact if you've never seen the results of abortion then you have no business involving yourself in the debate. Learning all you can about a subject should come before forming an opinion.

I would have noted that, save that the anti-abortionists' policies are not being implemented.

There are a dozen things I could point out that contribute to poverty, child abuse, and desperation-- but for the last thirty years, that has not been among them.

Might be tempted to dig up pictures of crack babies for people who oppose taxpayer funding of abortion-- and people who want to cut funds to rehab programs-- but that's simply not my style of debate.

The question shouldnt be "are the photos legal" but, "Why is it legal to kill the unborn, and not the postborn?"
