I've bin thinking about the subject,Religion might not be wreal but it doesnt need to be as long as people find hope in it and have a reason for themselfs to live, this might have been an idea of the higherups to make the economy a better place to live in and for it to flourish, wich would explain why there are so many other religions as other civilisations saw that this sort of plan worked.
Or,it might have just bin an attempt to control the people and make money, while the whole thing grew larger and widespread until somebody who didnt believe at all was to be beheaded.
I mean i'm not trying to offend anybody but WHY are there so many different religions, wich i personally hate because my country waged war within itslef because of the Muslim-Christian problems occuring, afcourse this was 10 year ago. This is just my opinion and im not trying to say im aethiest because i do have atleast some faith. |

While I don't think that all religion starts out as a government control, I think any religion that has the succeeds only does so because it is convenient for the government regime.
If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? Also, just a warning, you often find that the best argument that on can form against your ideas is you spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage, so you might wanna check these things in the future.

can government be a form of religion?
if you think about, they are sort of similar. they both rely on the support of many people. they both require a belief in cause. they both have representatives for the people, by the people.
the only difference is God and Money. |

I don't know. Not many folks worshipping Odin these days. And any cause the Aesir and Vanir had is irrelevant today. Doesn't make worship of Odin any less a religion.
And to some Money is a God... Mammon.
I appologize to any Scandinavians I may have offended. I'm sure there are still a couple of you that worship the All Father and have relevant concerns. Go Freya!

actualy god and money are both part of religion, because for some reasone no church or temple ever have enough money, they always need more donations.
i think true difference is god and and a group of people that ultimatly decide the fate of a country

Thats true our church raised 3 million for a new building. And we're poorer than ever. It's kind of sad when you're five rows back and theres only three dollars in the basket. |

that may be true but if you think of it on a national or even international scale. theres 3 dollars in the basket at your church, now im not quoting anything bu i assume there are a minimum of a million churches throughout the world (prolly more) now take that 3 dollars from that one mass meeting, and multiply it by the number of masses per day for each church and add all the mass accumulations for each church in the world, or even in the nation, and you still have quite a bit of money...not as much as in previous years, but its still a large amount non the less
