"Oh yay, let's organize eachother because we don't necassarily share any common beliefs!"

Seriously... why? I don't understand... wouldn't the point of being an independent be to be independent?

Freedom of thought, without being "tied" to a certain polictical party I suppose.

The same could be said about the radicals, commies and anarchists, primers and matches.

Radicals are organized because we know we have similar political beliefs. With Independents, you never know. It's therefore pointless to give them an HQ. If they want to be Independent so bad why would they join an HQ?

So they can discuss their views on issues without having to resort to the troll-fest of P and G. Seems like a good enough reason to me and if all the radicals are so like minded then they obviously aren't that radical...

For one, it is a place where disenfranchised individuals from the entire political spectrum can meet, and discuss why they feel the current parties are unworkable. They range from disgruntled Republicans, Libertarians, and Democrats. They are not generally anarchists or socialists, so they don’t belong in the Radical HQ.

The point of the independent party is easy to explain. We dont vote on canidates because of their party. We vote on them because we LIKE the candidate, not because they are a member of our party. The point of our forum is to discuss what political independents are favorable in our eyes.

Maybe if there was more activity. In my brief stay there was some debate.

a) there is some activity that has a lot in common with a short sharp shock. we discuss, agree or disagree, then rest until the next thing comes up. There is no need at the HQ for any "ongoing back-slapping among the guys", and we hardly ever find enough common ground to voice a strategy outside the HQ, which would be quite un-independent anyways.
b) most of us think before they post. that takes time.
c) activity comes from participation. Most of us are not post count hunters, so we are by default not the ones to post as if there's no tomorrow.

i joined it not to be tied down to a party. people who are in a political party tend to get a "mob mentality" as i like to call it. i dont want to believe something because the republicans said it and i dont want to agree with anything the repubs say or vice versa. as my subtitle says "freedom to think" except in latin and also my userbar
