I must say, one of the most defining and important events in the history of the world would have to be the birth of Mussoloni.(is that how you spell it?) Think about it. He is the man that started the facist idealism. Yes, Hitler had a much more visible effect, but who did Hitler basically idolize at the beginning? Mussoloni is basically the man who started the largest war ever, which shaped our cultures and histories. Think about it!

I completely must disagree with you because I think the most important birth was Mikhail Gorbachev with a large margin!!! My reasons for this is because he allowed the public to critisize government for the first time in Russia.

Largest war ever.. Nope beaten easily by the First World war, and the Tiaping rebelion in china, also for total population/kill ratio the English/British Civil war still takes the cake.

Mussolini don't got s**t on men like, John Locke, Thomas Paine, Plato. To just chuck out 3 that come straight to mind.

Tin pot dictator of a mickey mouse dictatorship.

Quote: Nope beaten easily by the First World war,

Sorry but a combined Military a civilian casaulty total of 15,000,000 max does not trump 62,000,000-75,000,000 for WW2.

Quote: and the Tiaping rebelion in china

The most accurate sources list the Death toll at 20,000,000 and the highest at 50,000,000. Not trumping World War 2.

Of the combined 3 kingdoms 10% of the population was killed at the maximum estimate. I dont beleive this is the largest, and this is only an account of a single nationial area, Scotland, England, and Ireland.

Mousealini(Intentional) was a chump, as well a Gorbachev. WWII by far has the largest kill rate, but I would place my money Genghis Khan for a death ratio.

peeshaw, Ivanov Lennin
he brought forth marx's ideas of communism and actually used an entire country as an experiment and when he died, there were 3 leaders afterward that tried to duplicated lennins way of teaching exactly. from this came the red scare, ideas of woirld revolution, middle class rule ideals, and much more.
