| Any Muslims know about this return of the 12th imam? I keep reading about it, and it discuss how the Iranian president basically seems to be trying to usher in armageddon for this imam's return. |

Many Iranian Shiites have a prophecy concerning the 12th imam, or religious leader/cleric. They believe that this man, Ahmadinejad, is the 12th imam or his, as you said, usherer. He is supposed to be some figure similar to a second coming of Jesus Christ, but I really don't know.
We as Sunnites believe otherwise. snow, would you like to know what it is? :wink: |

What most of the muslim schools of thought believe is that the Imam -known as Imam Mehdi, would be chosen by the people of the age in Makkah (mecca) at the mid of the Armageddon. And after a few years of his appearance Jesus would again amongst his followers. A return of Jesus is known but a return of 12tth imam is quite distant to my knowledge. Iranian already believe in 12 imams –those have preached in past.
As a Muslim I would say that... I’m sure ahmadinejad isn’t Imam Mehdi.
We believe that Muslims would be the true followers of Jesus at his appearance. (as we believe in his book.)
Do you think Armageddon is there? |

no my friend... AlImam AlMahdi and the 12th Imam are different characters...
Almahdi is as you said the one from the lineage of Prophet mohammed and will be bron in Medina ,,, as I think
but the 12th Imam is the one Shiites believe to return and get out from a crypt that he entered when he was a kid. they believe that he will come out and be the savior of shiites
Sunnis do not believe in the 12th Imam, only shiites do. sunnis believe in Almahdi

I’m not mixing the Shiite concept of 12th imam into Al-Imam Al-Mahdi. I believe the Mahdi would be from the lineage of Mohammad (sallallaho alaihi wasallam.) And he would be born in Medina Munnawara. And the wise people of the world being in Makkah mukarrama would recognize him…
Thus Ahmadinejad doesn’t fit the merit.
The Shiite concept is still confusing…
However we all Muslims would agree on the Imam Al-Mehdi.
Wallah alam…
