| Humans are always trying to make stories, out of our histories, experiences, and what could happen-you name it we've made a story out of it. Dreams are just the random firings of stuff in our brain and our unconscious mind tries to make stories out of the nonsense. |

Quote: I, personally, believe in the idea of prophetic dreaming. There is so much to our mental capacities of which we are unaware. It seems possible, to me, that prophetic dreaming could be a part of that.
With so many caves, crevices and holes around the world, it seems possible to me, that leprechauns are lurking out there... somewhere...
I think neuroscience has provided tangible proof that we are capable of a lot of things, but not prophetic dreaming. Dreaming has a lot of functions, and research is still being done in its functions, but it mostly likely involves the processing of data acquired throughout the day. Nightmares about a guy with long nails after watching freddy krueger rarely predict the ending of the world, after all..
And regarding these visions. It is peculair that many folk with 'vision' have some kind of 'mental ilness' (this does not make that people with mental illnesses have vision ;)).. Trump, per example, with his dyslexia, Muhammed with epilepsy...

Quote: So i think i've come up with another reason for dreams.
Dreams are supposed to be pictures in our head of memories, ideas, or fantasies. Some people have said that dreams occure because these things make us happy, others have said dreams prject what we are feeling or going through at the time, but what I think, is that dreams are all linked, through your entire life, of a way that your mind projects your perfect world; your Utopia.
In that case, my "utopia" involves giant radishes jumping out of the hedgerows and chasing me into the neighbors yard. Once, after late night pizzas and chocolate mousse, I dreamed of Mr. Rogers counseling me on safe sex. I always figured my utopia had more naked virgians fitted in, but I guess not.
Gosh.[/quote] |

First off, I am new here, as in a couple of minutes ago I signed up, this is my first official post.
1)First off, to the one who said dreams being anything more then chemical changes in the brain is inconceivable. Philosophically, regardless if you share this beliefe or not, the following is conceivable.
Here is a fast short and sweet example.
A- All has opposites.
B- Spiritual is the opposite of Physical.
A+B=Spiritual realm/dieties/happenings must exist.
C- Many believe the physical and spiritual work side by side.
D- Physically, dreams are a sertin something-what you described.
C+D=Dreams are what they are physically, and can also be, or not be, what they are spiritually.
Meaning that on a subjective level, it can be massly accepted that dreams can sometimes be purely technical, but sometimes, due to the laws of a sertin spirituality, be also spiritual.
The whole point? Not that it is or isn`t spiritual, just that the simple "idea" of it is not impossible to conceive of.
2) My personal opinion on the matter, would be that mostly dreams are physically what they are-changes pertaining to the brain. However I do not see it as impossible that the dreams one received could be changed to deliver a godly message, or epiphany.
Question: What are dreams? Spiritual products or technical products?
My Answer: Both. |

| Dreams occur from the firing of neurons in the brain, it is a random thing that occurs when peoples heart rate and blood pressure fall below a certain level. |

they have no inherent meaning or didactic purpose. to try and argue so is absolute nonsense.

yes, i know many whom attest to haveing prophetic dreams. deja vu being a mundane dream more or less forgotten.. |
