So i think i've come up with another reason for dreams.
Dreams are supposed to be pictures in our head of memories, ideas, or fantasies. Some people have said that dreams occure because these things make us happy, others have said dreams prject what we are feeling or going through at the time, but what I think, is that dreams are all linked, through your entire life, of a way that your mind projects your perfect world; your Utopia.
When you have nice dreams of things you like, or you long for, your mind is projecting what it wants or desires. When your mind is projecting a bad dream or a nightmare your mind is projecting what should not be included in your Utopia. And through these different dreams, no matter how good, how bad, how obscure, your mind is subconciously creating its own perfect world of what ultimatley wants
now this is just me, but my mind is quite indecisive... |

boobies, snakes, falling, and fire. that pretty much covers it al for me as far as what i dream about.
i think the subconscious tries to balance the conscious by projecting it self during sleep. ultimately it doesn't "mean" anything. its just random images competing with what what your "do" see every day. |

dreams are nothing but the random discharge and movement of ions and other such chemicals in your brain.
they have no inherent meaning or didactic purpose. to try and argue so is absolute nonsense. |

Don't let your dreams just wasted. They are some feedbacks to improve your lifstyle.
I say, lifestyle rather the coming day. It's some of your inner reactions you have done all the last day/week.
Dreams are really seen...
A pretty chance to know yourself!! |

Zarathustra wrote: Dreams are the psychic manifestation of our repressed hopes and fears. The good have pleasant dreams for they have more hope than fear. The bad have nightmares, for they have little hope and much to fear. The amoral have no dreams for they have no hope and fear nothing because they have no conscience. The virtuous have sweet dreams, for their goodness transcends the desire of hope and the fear of evil.
Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory has become continuously disproved over the past couple of years. Most dreams are just interpretations of the events of the day before. Often dreams are opposites of what happened the day before or have no correlation to any situation. The theory of the "unconcious mind" is woefully pessimistic and terribly flawed. |

dreams are..
our past,
our future,
our present.
the experiences we have been through,
what may happen in the future,
what is happening right now.
it's all mixed together.
memories,
with the present.
this could end up as you showering,
and going to school
while in the shower?
anything is really possible when it comes to dreams,
but one thing i know,
is that dreams are far from reality. |

| I think dreams might be a mechanism by which to compress memories. Though I usually can't remember dreams even a few moments after waking up, most of them seem to be stored in subconsciousness. |

| Think about it logically. Our minds our always working on one level or the other. So our thought process has to go somewhere. And having the REMs make odd paterns your brain interprets them. It just takes from things that you were thinking about. So the day before or getting killed in Utopia. Dreams are nothing more than thought process fluff. |

| Dreams, although you might like to think otherwise, mean next to nothing. If they had meaning then, logically, they'd be meant for us to remember, which we usually don't. Dreams reflect thoughts and/or feelings, and little else. |

Dreams are the brain sorting through memories collected during the day.
Nothing more or less. |

Throughout the day our brains collect a lot of information. In order for neurons to work they need to decompose some materials (minerals, elements and so on). This waste that stays over is holucinogenic. When human falls asleep this waste forces brain into hollucinogenic state. That's how we have dreams.
Dreams mean nothing. |

| Magnetic brain scans show that while dream your eyes move around rapidly. This is called REM sleep. During REM sleep your brain processes information collected throughout the day. It practices the skills you used throughout the day. People who get the most REM sleep usually do better at school and are more stable. So listen when your mom tells you to go to bed. |

| All SpellJammer's dreams suck, every last one of them involves him in conflict, emotional despair, and uncomfertable situations. The only time they're tolerable is when a girl is in them, at that a love-partner.. not just some random chick.. |

Sounds a lot like my problem. Only in my case, the nightmares are exceeded in terror only by the reality I wake up to. |

this isnt an argumentive statement: how did the people who perform the scans and concure it is REM sleep come to the conclusion that you are processing information collected through the day and that your brain is not creating its own utopia or subconcious realm? |

I, personally, believe in the idea of prophetic dreaming. There is so much to our mental capacities of which we are unaware. It seems possible, to me, that prophetic dreaming could be a part of that. |
