WAR SHOWS NOT WHOSE RIGHT, BUT WHO IS LEFT.
Can anyone see that but me? Am I the only person in this world who is capable of getting along with others for at least a short while to make compromises and live peacefully?
Your theory is utopian. Everyone agrees that war is terrible but sometimes it is necessary for change.
"the pen is mightier than the sword"
I don't see war as necessary, More as a game to prove power and supremisy over your oponent. and your saying we need war for peace? So far, war has just divided us more
Of course war asserts supremacy over your opponent. Dont get me wrong I abhor war but to say that it is never neccesary is ridiculous. What about the revolutionaries who rise up against oppressive regimes who squash their freedoms. War accomplishes many things it secures nations interests and changes the political affiliation of the region.
they could have tried harder to use diplomacy and compromise instead of fighting.
How do you use diplomacy against a people that does not want to live. That is the fundamental difference between westernism and islamic fundamentalism. They have no desire to live they only wish hold onto their religious beliefs even if it means their own surmise. |

I hate to seem too callused about the subject, but here is a problem which cannot be solved. Even if everyone on Earth observed the same religion/philophies/political and social ideals, even if there was only one government, even if everyone was exactly the same, there would still be conflict. The reason is resources divided by consumers, supply and demand. There will never be enough of everything to satisfy everyone. In this competition there will always be losers and therefore strife and therefore aggression. No amount of diplomacy can satisfy every hungry mouth or empty pocket.
Without old grudges and mindless zealotry there will still be the id, the survival instinct to feed one's self.
Without insatiable greed there will still be the id, the survival instinct to compete for the best of the available resources, (whether they be as basic as food and mates or as profound as higher education). |
