Just remembered, my friend was asking me, hey, why do some Muslim countries make non-muslim women wear burka's.

and here is why, its not forcing, its more of a cultural thing. Like taking your kids to church,if you don't tell your kids to go to church, they wont.

Or if u don't tell your kids to not smoke they probably will try it.

We if we give the country a choice, when non-muslim women walk around with burka's, and they see nonmuslim women walking around they young gurls want to do it too. Now one may say hey whats wrong with that?

In the Western culture women only keep sacred whats under there bikinis, and some dont even do that. in the Muslim counties the whole body of a women is "sacred"

im sorry if im using the wrong terminology, but this just occurred to me, and this is all aside from the religious aspect, this is more on the cultural aspect(YES o know culture is based on religion, but still...)

In our culture, not wearing a burka is like smoking, or walking around naked, do you want your daughters/wives walking around naked in public?

Any questions?

Well, the burqa is only used in Afghanistan and the Eastern Islamic countries. It is not used in Saudi Arabia or any of the other Arab nations. In Saudi Arabia, women have to wear abayas and cover their hair with a hijab. In other Arab nations, this thing does not apply at all.

In my view, Burka is not necessary if you are properly dressed. Its all about what thing keep you prevent to be naked in public.

Oh of course thats 100 percent true, in pakistan, and my family and knwon ones only cover the head.

all i am saying is that dont tell the poeple women burkas to stop, thats wrong.

It all depends on what you think of as naked, likes deoes whowing your belly buton count as naked? or does exposing your thighs etc...

That's very true. The people that have a go about Muslims wearing a burka/head scarf are the same people that call some western girls sluts for wearing short skirts and skimpy tops. Different standards of dignity thats all.

Double standards. People are so hypocritical these days.

shouldn't it be up to the women themselves to decide whether they want to wear it or not?

Believe it or not, it is, especially in countries outside Saudi Arabia. Women don't wear the hijab inside their homes in the company of their family, but they only wear it in public.
