When I was in China I was amazed at the level of offical homophobia shown by the goverment. Guess the phenomona isn't isolated to religious conservatives. |

| China bans everything... including certain things that you're allowed to search for online. :( Kinda sad, but slightly amusing. |

| A film with a strong rugged individualistic theme that happens to be about homosexuals must be the Chinese government's worst nightmare. |

| Well i think it should be banned here. It seems like a liberal attempt to force gay marriage propoganda upon everyone. I am in no way anti-gay, but i will never support gay marriage. |

Come on bro. If you tell Moath we should have freedom of speech, you have to support all kinds of freedom of expression. That movie is just another mode of expression. If we ban Brokeback, we tell the government that censorship is ok. |

I say we ban you from speaking ever again.
Don't like it? Thinks it would infringe on your first amendment rights? Well too bad, since that's exactly what you are trying to do. |

Oh Lordy.
If you don't want to see it, then don't see it. I don't think "Finding Nemo" was trying to force propaganda on anyone.. but I'm sure if someone looked hard enough - maybe someone would come up with the "evil liberals trying to indoctrinate people into raising children alone" or some other b.s. underlying message.
Get real, guy. It's a movie. If you don't like the "message" (and all movies have them) then don't support it by paying to watch it.
It really is that simple. |

I agree. People are being brainwashed by the sodomites. Clearly, this society is being way too soft and it has forgotten its core values. Action is needed now ... |

You gotta be kidding me, it was obviously an attempt by liberals to make interracial fish marriages legal

Isn't that kind of logic up there with "he can't be gay, he's in a fraternity!"?
Please, give yourself some credit and at least come up with some sort of convincing argument. This "hollywood liberal elite propoganda" BS has been played out. |

while we're at it why don't we ban passion of the christ as well for excessively depicting torture. why don't we just ban everything I personally don't like because I am the morality police. don't like it? too bad, deviants |

I would first like to say that the majority of the people that support this movie along with gay marriage are left wing liberals. These are the same people who don't think that cheating on a spouse is a bad thing (Clinton). I do think it should be banned, its giving people who should have none of the benefits of married couples more political backing for their futile fight. Back to my point though, China bans everything else, why is everyone making a big deal about the banning of a movie that encourages homosexual acts. And it does encourage those acts, before anyone says it doesn't encourage them, it does. I would be willing to bet that if (or when) China banned The Passion of The Christ, that no one would think twice about it. Heavan forbid that we show a movie about religion without any left wing political undertones.
As for the comment about 'if you are for freedom of speech shouldnt you be for freedom of everything?' That is bullsh*t. I don't think that you would be for a theif or murderer to have the freedom to enter your house or take your car and call it expressing their personality... you can not draw the line on issues that work for you or dont work for you... I dont have a problem if these people want to be gay, but I do not agree with the argument that they should get benefits that heterosexual couples get. So, by giving in to this movie we are giving a lobbyist organization indirect support that could determine whether America and other countries change from a politically neutral stance on homosexuality to an anti-heterosexual stance. |

How dare you compare the Christ to some sodomites from Wyoming?
