IMO opnion the reason they dont get along too well, is because they cant decicde on a leader.

Suadi Arabia, wants it because has Kaba, Pakistan wants it cause its got nukes, etc.

If the muslims worked together, they could solve the poverty problem and alot of their problems.

Seeing that most muslim countries borders are touching, could you imagine, allo of them dropping the borders and becoming one. Its not going to happen. But if it did, well oculd you just imagine, the uproar.

Isreal would be gone, There would be a world war 3.

I want there to be a a single muslim nation, but when i think about the aftermath, its scary, What your opnion?

Why do you think the muslim countries dont get along, as they should...?

From my limited knowlege, I think that it's because the leaders of these countries are corrupt. Some ass lick the US, others hate the US. Maybe if it were up to Muslims in general it would be easier? I don't know? Would your Islamic state incoporate Malaysia and Indonisia? Would it be secular or Islamic law? What about non Muslims living there, would they be subject to Islamic law? The Chinese in Malaysia wouldn't like that I can tell you.

Well Im against a muslim khelafa. I know that maybe that opinion may shock certain people but Im more into something similar to the European union but even stronger. Like 1 foreign policy, 1 army, 1 general economy ( the muslim countries should be self sufficient, that would increase the trade between the muslim countries and lessens their independence on foreign states) but each nation should have its own leader and sovereignty.

That's quite a good point, but get ready for an Arab-to-Arab debate, not necessarily in disagreement.

Although a Muslim Caliphate does not seem practical at the moment, it was indeed practical at the times of the Umayyads in Al Andalus, where there ensued a reign of peace, and, as you said once, during the reign of the Caliph Omar Ibn Abdl Aziz. However, I am with you on this one: due to the tafarruq that we're facing these days, we can't unite as one Islamic entity, considering that we still have republics and monarchies ruling, not democracies... yet.

This EU idea sounds nice, but then again you've got the Arab League, which is still not doing its best in maintaing ties and solving any problems whatsoever. Surprisingly, I came upon this special report from Al Jazeera. It includes in interview with the Sheikh Yusuf Al Qardawi concerning Arab reform.

Considering what's going on in the Middle East, looks like that time is near...

I truly believe that out of this miserable state that the Arab world will finally get back to where it should be..Reform will come soon as this situation is intolerable in many countries.

Perhaps a leauge of more liberal Muslim states, remember the EU has some pretty high standards of tranparency, civil, and human-rights that must be met before they let a member state in.

Very practical!!

It would be unbearable for the states those get allied in the name of region rather religion.

A secular state for the broad region from Morocco to Indonesia has much for the sack but still impractical. However, a revolutionary social change lies in the single state that can bring them into reforming and growing with the world.
I’ll say again, namely a united Islamic state would not be tolerated by the Christianity-practicing secular states.

It seems really impractical, unless power and interference is used in those countries.

I agree, a Pan-Muslim Islamic Republic(like Iran or the Taliban) would be instantly opposed by the Western Secular states, and I'm willing to bet India too.

the problem with islam is that muslims regard the quran as the direct word of god. that leaves basically no room for interpretation. it is infallible. i believe that, at least to some degree, explain the disproportional number of fundamentalist muslims as opposed to the number of fundamentalist christians...

First of all, the Koran is indeed infallible. Second, the radical Muslims come out of these countries because, well, people in these countries are not exposed to the outside world pretty much. There are a LOT of fundamentalist Christians out there, but the media tends to focus on the fundamentalist Muslims. Also, there is a lot of blatant hate towards Muslims that starts and fuels the fires of extremism. There is not a lot of hate from the Muslim world towards Christians because we believe in the word of Jesus as well.

Why not a single united Islamic State, -even by the votes of the people, acceptable?
Why not the people who want their constitution from the basics of Koran, acceptable?

What says your democracy?

What people don't know is that the US Constitution itself is somewhat based on the Koran.

I agree, but I think it should stay here so as to keep the debate between Muslims and see how we can apply Islam to governance the way it was during the caliphates.

And it's good to see you again, Muslima. :-D
