i also consider myself a pagan, Asatru to be specific, the religion of my ancestors.

as stated earlier, pagan was once used to mean a person who did not believe in Christianity and who were often farmer-type people. Given that many Germanic peoples were rural folks, this is not surprising.

what i would like to know is how early Muslims viewed pagans and how their reaction differed from Christians'?
