How did these people get away with manslaughter? I know the chavs responsible are probably as thick as s**t, but even they should have known that kicking someone repeatedly in the head was likely to result in death. They should have been done for murder....

Their age was probably a factor and as far as i know they did not intend to kill him, when they left him he was still alive and later bled to death. I agree the sentencing was weak, but i don't think there was enough scope to charge them with murder.

I'm sorry, that verdict in my perspective is transparently unfathomable. For goddess sake, they are ''filmed'' physically abusing an innocent person as the snap shots show, and get away with manslaughter?

Our criminal sentencing system is like a cushion, there's no concrete to teach them a lesson. Absurd.

When there is concrete rove that they killed people they should themselves be killed. In the same fashion as they killed the victim but because of the other crimes first they should be battered let to recover and battered again until they have paid for each crime then be beaten to death.

I find the whole thing deeply sickening - I feel terrible sympathy for the young boy's family.

And I just hope that others will not effectively realise how weak their punishment will be and think that this type of disgusting behaviour is acceptable.

Personally, I'm saddened-- and more than a little amazed-- that this sort of thing can exist as a fad anywhere.

I've seen a few videos of things like that here, too, and it just sickens me.

Is it any worse other there? its a national issue over here, happens all the time. Alot of the attacks are racially triggered but as you can see, sometimes its just for "fun". i have been a victim of this myself. obviously on not such a large scale as this. i got attacked with a road-side cone by a male and female. the female smashed a cone over my head while the male laughed and video'd, they started running away afterwards, it seems to me like the young generations are seeing this in the news and trying it out themselves. its going to get worse, i think the government are being arses about this, this is premeditated assault, jumping on someones head is definetly going to kill them, considering the floor is concrete, like antonio said, a life for a life in the same manner they was killed.

I believe this wont be a fad they said that about football hooligans but that has grown more into a culture. I've have been on the end of a happy slapping myself but when i got there phone of them they didn't like it. But it has to stop it's not funny at all and the people doing this should be locked in a mental institute
