And having seen this argument over and over, I'm quite ready to presume that you think we already have equal rights, and that you support this kind of thing happening:

Michigan Gay Marriage Ban Means No Membership Community Center Tells Gay Couple

Quote: When agendas cross the line and claims are made that children are born gay and should be taught about homosexuality at an early age, in school, no less... yeah... I have a BIG problem with that.
When agendas cross the line and claims are made that people choose to be gay, and that children should be taught in school that it's something evil to be kept hushed up and never spoken of, I have a BIG problem with that.

Quote: Because their liberal ideology dictates to them that Republicans are evil, racist, homophobic extremists that can not tolerate any diversity.
When the Republican party does stuff like this, I find it hard to feel any sympathy for them being 'mischaracterized' this way:

Florida GOP Bankrolling Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment

Quote: The truth is much the opposite.
Some people wouldn't recognize the truth if it stared them in the face and waved multiple forms of identification under their nose.

Quote: Liberals give only lip service to diversity, and can only tolerate those that agree completely with their narrow life-view.
Many conservatives don't support diversity, and can't seem to figure out that just because we tolerate their right to hold that opinion, that doesn't mean we have to agree with the content of it.

You actually told your son you wished he was gay?

What are you?

"I know a very religious woman who does not belief Jesus would make her son born gay. We are friends but, until sher accepts her son as is I won't speak to her."

No you are aquaintances and you no longer wish to aquaint with her. you were never really friends otherwise you would forgive her her ignorance and try to teach her better. But since you don't want to talk to her I guess you don't want to teach her.

Where I'm from, it isn't an insult to call someone gay. I suppose Republicans looove to forget about Lynn Cheney's lesbian novels and her lesbian daughter, but it makes me smile that they act as though homosexuality is awful then fine in the same sentence.

I have no problems with homosexuality in and of itself. I have no problem with them having the same rights that I have, in any situation, and would oppose any law that denies them the same rights that I have.

When agendas cross the line and claims are made that children are born gay and should be taught about homosexuality at an early age, in school, no less... yeah... I have a BIG problem with that.

Liberals betray their own hypocrisy in attacking the Cheney's because their daughter is gay.

Democrats do not attack whether or not she is gay - we attack the hypocrisy of parents who impose terrible sanctions? and refuse to even allow for discrimination lawsuits for gays and call being gay a choice...and then they have a gay daughter, and the mother writes lesbian novels. How can they be so outrageously hypocritical is the question, and how can Republican voters not see the hypocrisy.

Who would choose to be ostracized, persecuted and humiliated?
If you are this stupid then you deserve to be led around by the nose.
Being homosexual is not a choice it's a genetic roll of the dice.

I know a very religious woman who does not belief Jesus would make her son born gay. We are friends but, until sher accepts her son as is I won't speak to her.

My son told me tonight that he believes homosexuality is a choice.
I told him that I wish he had been born gay. I'm not gay but for gods sake .. I'm not an idiot.
Who would make this "choice"?

If you continue to persecute the children of god for what god has given them then I pray for your salvation.

Are left handed people choosing to write with the wrong hand?

Why would you wish your son anything except success and happiness?

As for your views on homosexuality, I agree with them. This (along with other points) is what changed my views on homosexuality. Who would willingly choose to be persecuted? It makes no sense, and one of the reasons I feel noone CHOOSES to be a homosexual. They are, they way they are and there was no choice in the matter.

I'm sure there are people who 'choose' to be gay. That being said, if you 'choose' to be gay, you are choosing to be gay only in act & deed, not in who you are.
Being gay is not an easy thing to live with in this society, so I am not sure why someone would choose to be gay, unless they like the attention & want to be different. Makes no sense to me
