don't worry. he's in good company
When Bush came, he met with the major leaders of canada. I believe h spent more time talking to Harper privately then he did to the actual primeminister. I believe he just shook Laytons hand.
ooohhhhh.. bush "the master of diplomacy" snubbed the prime minister.
Quote: The U.S. ambassador to Canada should not be intervening in this country's federal election, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper said Wednesday.
"I actually think the ambassador intervention was inappropriate," Harper said in Vancouver while campaigning for the Jan. 23 vote.
"I understand that the ambassador is concerned about our relationship, but there's inevitably going to be dialogue in that relationship among the parties during an election campaign."
Harper was responding to comments by U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins in Ottawa on Tuesday.
Wilkins implicitly rebuked Liberal Leader Paul Martin for attacking U.S. policies to score political points, suggesting it could have an effect on the future of the cross-border relationship.
"I don't think foreign ambassadors should be expressing their views or intervening in an election," Harper said.
Harper, who appears to be trying to distance himself from the Bush administration, suggested Martin has been neither effective nor tough enough with Washington. He said he couldn't understand why Wilkins intervened, saying that in terms of Canada-U.S. relations, nothing Martin says can be taken seriously.

Harper knows that he previous love affair with GW Bush left him with a big poltical zuccini up his ass but this is ridiculous. Does he actually think that the Canadian people have forgotten those long nights that Bush and Harper had political cyber sex on MSN Messenger? I mean seriously.
I Liek my guns, but I like my country better. I would never vote for a man like harper. I am not saying I would never vote conservative, just not HARPER. I will stick to the NDP. Layton I can at least respect. Layton wants to hang our oil over Bushs head if he doesn;t cease their sanctions on soft wood. Hells yeah baby!!!!
Take natural resource sanctions from US Biotch!!!!!

I keep forgeting wether or not we care about the rest of the world does. Is it, we don't care if France and Canada think we are bad, or is it, hey they do it so we can do it too. So glad you feel that Canada is now the litmus test. I bet you wouldn't be using them as the example if you wanted to prove something about Iraq. |

i haven't heard much from the liberals about the harper/bush love affair. maybe they're saving it for part2 of the campaign. harper=bush=satan.. vote liberal
i agree with layton we should use our resources diplomatically if the americans don't want to trade fair.
btw venezuela is already doing the same thing. chavez has moved from inviting chinese development to selling oil at a discount to pay the transport costs of shipping it to china and cutting US out of the bargain. throw in the fact several nations are pissing washington off by bucking IMF structural adjustment policies, this is really shaping up into a full blown trade war with the war weary american empire as everyone's punching bag |

Yeah, when you are a comsuming economy competeing with providing economies, you will not win.GM and ford will be bankrupt soon. After that, we will have little reason to trade with the US. China is more appetizing. Hu Jintao actually pays his bills and even though they are commies, they treat us 10 times better then Bush. |

well I for one see this as a "Canada has an Issue problem" too...
and some Canadians don't like to read anything that may cause a bit of controversy up there on there side of the border..
But I guess it's ok for some Canadians to blast the US anytime they like and on any issue..
remember the glass house theory...
and also keep this in mind..
We may fight amoungst each other down here in the lower 40..but when it comes to defending OUR Nation in times of need...we defend it together against all Foreign enemies...
if you don't beleive it..just check the History books...
We have the right to disagree with each other..but when it comes time to anti up..we are one..in Unity..
This is why this Nation is # 1 and always will be..
if ya don't believe it..put us to the test..and watch out...or just plain get out of the way..
The biggest issue OUTSIDERS have never come to learn is that , yes we argue with each other but at the end of the day we will ALL stand together to defend OUR individual rights .
We are the United States of America..and don't ever forget it... |

It amazes me how you can show so much smugness and irrational nationalism for opening up an airport. But, then again, you can say that letting airplanes land there was your greatest effort in the WOT. |

this is a pressing issue. Ignorant Americans think Canada is our friend. They are not our friend, nor are they an ally. Look at this, they are so hellbent on flaming the American way, they don't even know what is going on in their own country. They are hate-mongering hypocrites living on land that is rightfully AMerican.
Wake up America, Canada is our enemy and war is the only way to resolve this pesky little issue. |

/\????
Look at this thread. Notice how the canadians won't even discuss their own issue? Why do you continually side with the enemy? The ones who attack America for no apparant reason. The canadians have had many choice things to say about the Patriot Act and the NSA eavesdropping, yet when I showed them their government does the same, all they can do is continue bashing america while ignoring their own issues.
Tell me, as a litmus test, how do you feel about the hypocrisy spewed by the canadians? Howdo you feel that they don't even know what is goign on in their own little state but continually claim to know everything about America? They are hate mongers spewing drivel. |

we absorb 80% of your exports. lets have a trade war...it is the first step in reclaiming the land that is ours. As for China, catch up...if you can.
Incidently, this is just anopther example of how Canadians do nothing but spew anti-american drivel. A thread is started about the Canadian gov't spying on her people....and all the Canadians can do is attack Bush...
And you wonder why Canada is so insignificant! |

So the citizens of a country (allthough not the offical adminstration of the country) critising another countries foriegn policy makes them the enemy. |
