Ok first Aberdeen is kinda expensive its the oil industry, althought i'm not sure if this is just compared to the rest of Scotland or Britian as a whole, Edinburgh nice but i don't know too much about it.
Although the way you go about buying a house in Scotland is different than that of England. I think the main difference is that it has to be done through a solicitor and its more of an auction. (as in offers over £200k you would be expected to pay maybe somewhere in the region of 220-40k depending on how badly you wanted it of course if you want to be 100% sure you'll get it I've seen people add another 50-60k to that.....) |

Edinburgh has higher living costs than Glasgow and Glasgow is an excellent place to live as long as you avoid the east end and certain parts of the north side, it's also THE place to be if you like indie.
