I have a complaint, I don't have a party to vote for this election, and now I am confused. The closest party to my beliefs was the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, now they're gone. Absorbed by the quasi-fascist C-CRAP (Canadian Conservative Reform Alliance Party). I wish to vote for a right wing party, but how could I vote for a party that is more worried about western Canada than myself. I'm a libertarian, strongly conservative when it comes to fiscal issues but I do not want to vote for a party that would restrict my personal freedoms. The PCs were perfect, but they no longer exist, which s*cks. So it looks like i'll be supporting the liberals, :( , because if I don't vote, I won't have the right to complain [of course i'll have the right to complain, just i have to vote]. Martin said that he won't raise taxes, and it looks like i'll have to believe him.

Are there any other former PCs here who do not like the new Conservative Party.

I guess you'll have to take a lesser of two evils approach. That's waht I am doing here in the states come November.

I suppose that depends on what you consider evil - LOL

Kerry to me would be like electing your worst nightmare. I see no soul there in him. I see no eye contact when he speaks to people or crowds - I sense no sincerity at all - from a gut level - and I've been typically right on about these types of gut feelings. I really have trouble understanding what it is that Kerry thinks he can do for the United States that Bush isn't already doing - except maybe handing us over the the UN.

I simply don't like the job Bush is doing as president. Believe me, if you couldn't already tell, I am not standing and cheering for John Kerry, but I am hoping he can do a better job than Bush ebven though they are pretty much the same candy bar in different wrappers.

Conservatives - interested only in the welfare of the west, too bad i live in the east

Liberals - Liars, cheats, and butchers of the english language

NDP - these guys are nothing short of commies

Bloc Quebecois - not likely, for one thing they don't have candidates outside quebec and for another i'm not a seperatist

Which one is that? Do you mean good as in principle wise, or good as in serious contender? I hope principle wise.

If I had a libertarian candidate up here, i'd vote for him, just don't know who to vote for.

Granted. However, as defeatist as it sounds I don't want to waste my vote on a third party candidate, but if I did it would be Ralph Nader.

Wow, watching the debate two days ago makes me want to drive up to Quebec to vote for the Bloc. Ducepe was nothing short of amazing.

Yup I seem to have the same problem, each party has an aspect of their policy that I like, and the rest is just self serving garbage they come up with to get more votes.
Conservatives-Decreasing taxes, on a whole I don't like the idea, but It gets rid of the middleman where the Liberals have been taxing companies (eg. stelco) into oblivion and then wasting money on beurocrasies formed to give them some of the money in grants.

Liberals-Paying of the Debt. They seem to be the only Party to realise that when you're in debt, you pay it off, otherwise you just pay the interest for all of time.

NDP-The Proportionate representation. Most ridings are won with about 40% of the vote, and looses the others with 30% a party lets say forms a majority govenment with 75% of the seats, they have 3 quarters of the seats and power with only 37-38% voting for them. I know they only want it cause it will give them more seats, but it's a good idea.

Green-Lower taxes on property and income and raise it on non essentials. My grandparents came to Canada and worked as a unskilled labourer(construction) and part time food service. on those 2 paychecks they where able to afford a house in westdale, with is one the most expensive per acre areas in Ontario. Our essentials have become so expensive while our extra Perks are cheep as dirt, good old Priorities.

Block-Well... He's the only Candidate not being a total Dick.

So i guess I'll hijack the votes before their counted, alter them so each party only has enough power to do those things :twisted:

i will be voting liberal. it's all the strategic vote this election. my main goal is to stop stephen harper from ruining canada and turning it into the 51st state of the usa.
