What is ignorant about the fact that Chinese students are learning abroad to go back to China?
Quote: The world's most populous country has a seemingly endless supply of students, who have the money and the desire to learn overseas - and Europe is increasingly their destination of choice.

What has it got to do with hate Eynon81? The world corporations are rushing to China to prosper, I don't know what is ignorant about that.

Not only it is on topic because the first post of this thread reads "China as a global super-power is looking very attractive right now. Maybe they'll be able to balance the power" but also your first post in this thread reads " holy-s**t are you ignorant or what? .....
I had hundreds of students when I was working over there who would give anything to be in your or my position right now.......yet you waste your freedom".
I have already answered your question in my first post:
Quote: Accusing Bush of war crimes is giving him too much credit for what is happening in the world today, General Miller or Rumsfeld now you are talking war criminals.
Bush was never cut to be a war criminal, he refused to go to war when he had the opportunity.

Alright, I'm not happy with the current administration in the US. I do not agree with Bush on much of anything. However, I think it is rediculous to say that China is the new America. Maybe economically, but does China stand for freedom. Yes the US hasdone some things it hasn't during wars, great. What would China do? China isn't exactly pacifistic. Didn't they keep a US pilot for 18 days a couple years ago. China and the US will go to war in a couple of years. I love Europe and most Europeans, but if Europe were to side with China in a struggle over Taiwan. Wow. That would be a slap in the face to the US. |

As you rightly said the main difference between China and the US today is that China is honest about what they are about when the US makes all kinds of claims that we all know are false.
The worst of any totalitarian regime is the one that makes you think you are living in a free country.
As for Taiwan why should Britain intervene when Hong Kong is now back with mainland China where it belongs?

Excellent point, Luke. Now, I wonder why the US should intervene in Iraq after they installed Saddam into power in the first place. After all, they (the Iraqis) didn't have any WMD's... :? |

em.....cause democractic Taiwan does not want to be ruled by a corrupt and authoritarian regime in Beijing.
btw.....Hong Kong was created by the British, not the Chinese. |

People of Hong Kong are happy to be reunited with mainland China, Taiwan should have a go and it could be another Chinese success.
