I once jumped into a river to help save a man who was trying to save a basketball; and that nearly killed me.
I guess I am a natural born hero type. I can't see danger when it is around me even though I might think I was stupid in retrospect. But I have also seen people die in a fire I could do nothing to stop. I saw on that day one of the bravest people in the world, standing next to a seething airplane trying to put it all out with a fire extinguisher. When my time comes, I hope I have such courage, and think I will. Even when you cannot save a person completely, it is the nicest thing to give them a chance to make their peace and say good bye. We devalue all life when we value our own lives too highly. |

| The greatest thing you can do for someone else is to lay down your life to save theirs. To watch someone, even a stranger, die before my eyes when I could have done something about it would eat away at me for the rest of my life; I would not be able to live with myself. |

What ever faults you may possess; I assert, here and now that you are a human being. |

I might consider putting on the 'Human Torch' suite on to save the person.

| Yes. I'd hope others would save me, so I should try to save others. I wouldn't try if I knew the likelihood was that I wouldn't make it out, though, because that would be pointless and compound the loss of life. |

easy.
i would choose to die if i thought it would benefit me. but there's no benefit in dying. so, i choose to live.
i'd probably think there's benefit in dying if i believed in an afterlife. but i don't believe in an afterlife; it's just not plausible. therefore, i do not think dying is beneficial. |

you're being asked whether you'd choose to die so another may live. your answer is that you'd be willing to for money. so, you're saying you'd die for money. well, name your price! let your precious money be buried with you, madman or ancient Egyptian that you are! |

I only do whats in my self-interest, I don't give a f**k about anybody unless its in my own self-interest to do so. By recieving money is the only way it would be in my best self-interest to save someone. |

Please stop avoiding the question. I would like to know why you deem me as "not the sharpest knife in the drawer". |

Hmm, okay then. I read my post and still don't see why. I guess acting in your best self-interest is a horrible thing. |
