Well my thoughts on the 1920s in general. Very important decade in deciding the future of the world. The Russian Polish war was a very important conflict. If Russia had won they could have went on to conquer a very weakened Germany with ease. Thus making it possible to make most of eastern and central Europe communist. With the west so depleted from WW1 they may have bee overrun with not to much difficulty. Then we would have had no WW2 and no America becoming a superpower. Due to the isolationist policy they used. This could mean that Russia could dominate the world. Of course that's just me hypothesizing and the Polish did win.
Another very important thing was the rise of Nazism and the eventual gaining of Hitler to the chanclership. Although he won it in the early 30s it was events in the 20s that gained them the support they needed to gain victory in the election. Without going into to much detail things such as the wall street crash, hyper inflation, political violence and fear of communism. Hitler being in power obviously led to WW2 which led to the emergence of 2 new superpowers and the start of the cold war, which still effected us until 1990. |
