So now it is clear that Stephen Byers lied to the House of Commons and Tony Blair had full knowledge of this.

Problem is the Tories are too preoccupied to do anything about this and its not making the papers what with the leadership election and whatever disease people are scared off this year.

Any thoughts on what should/will happen?

Nothing will happen. The fact is that Byers lied to the Commons whilst conducting his government responsibilities. My being old fashioned, would suggest you should quit for that. Yet he quit already. I hasten to add that he is widely believed to have quit because of the 'burying bad news issue, when he seemed to resign after admitting nobbing a Labour councillor from Sefton and she admitted all to the News of the World.

No, in this country we are more preoccupied with worrying about what people did when never being in office.

He should be censured, the little cat-eyed creep has been looking for a return to Cabinet since he left it, like Mandelson and Blunkett. Resignation means a couple of months
