It has *nothing* to do w/ dollars.. :snoot:
That's an (almost unforgivable) abomination and desecration that the Communist FDR was responsible for. |

Ok, ok, I don't like FDR any more than you do, the man was an uber-shmuck. But stop speaking in riddles already....can't you just give a simple brief description? |

I dunno... we live in an era when it's hard to give precise words to what you believe in. I suppose I try to follow and hold true to the teachings that I believe were found in the early Christian church (before it was corrupted by Rome), but then again that's precisely the same thing that John and cap'n will tell you, and obviously my beliefs are nothing like theirs, sooo... that line of reasoning won't get us very far...
I can say:
* I believe that G-d is One, an ineffable, unknowable Unity
* I believe that G-d is Love, although Love manifesting in a way and manner that most humans - in their earthly corruption - cannot understand or comprehend
* I believe that G-d instituted a Law (or "commandments" if you will), and that it's the responsibility of man to follow these commandments to the best of his earthly abilities
* I believe that as man grows in consciousness of what this Law is, and how to follow it (i.e., as he more and more consciously tries to follow the commandments of G-d), that man grows closer to G-d (although this *must* be done on an individual-by-individual basis)
* I believe that mortal man has a responsibility to cast off the mortal, and take on the cloak of the Immortal (as described by St. Paul in his Epistles)
* I believe that the Love of G-d is a Consuming Fire, and has the power to "burn off" the sin occurred by mortal man as a consequence of living a mortal life (although this a not "free" in the sense usually used.. it's "free" in the sense that the capability of drawing close to G-d is given to all men, but man must still exchange - or sacrifice - his mortal sins unto the Consuming Fire of G-d)
* I believe that the Kingdom of G-d is already inside you (as per Luke 17:21, or as per the Greek philsophers who advised "know thyself"), and that if you do not find it, you have nobody but yourself to blame
In short, it's not that hard. Pretty much in line w/ the Bible (Old and New Testament), although try telling that to the lunatic fringe who believes that Adolf Hilter (or Jeffrey Dahlmer) was a *swell* guy b/c he *believed* in Jesus, or that someone who eats lobster is doomed to roast in Hell for the rest of eternity.. |
