Artscroll brings Seder Olam Rabbah
saying that it was now 42 years since the previous King Yehoshaphat married Omri's daughter. This verse alludes to the fact that the decree to anihilate Omri's line (Achav) would be enacted on his decendants in Judah as well, due to Judah's sinfulness. |
