Recently, I had an idea: Couldn't China just gather up a few million loyal communists, then get them to immigrate to a democratic country, and vote in a communist party. Then the communist party could cancel all further elections and the communists could emigrate back to China (or stay, possibly an incentive offered, similar to those offered in the settlement of the west) This way couldn't China 'conquer' the world? I mean, it's not like we could stop the Chinese from voting... well tell me what you think, personally I think it's not practical, but could be effective if put in practice.

This is one of those things that's great on paper, but just wouldn't work in real life. Most countries probably have immigration laws to stop something like that from happening.

It's true... Canada lets in like 25,000 immigrants a year or something.... but if you claim refugee status and relinquish your foreign citizenship you can vote... I'm not sure if you're labled as a 'citizen' or not, but you might be... I'm not saying it's an easy life as a refugee or anything, just to clear that up... If China really wnted to they could theoretically take us over this way.

Well, that could be a problem then, couldn't it? But besides Canada, Rannath is pretty much hitting the nail on the head. If a government senses a foriegn organized coup, I think that they'd do something.

Yes but how would you regulate it? I mean, If they all suddenly show'd up in San Francisco harbour as refugees you'd look very aweful sending them back. And, who's to say it happens all at once? It is conceivable that sleeper cells could be employed, and then you could have like, a 50+ year gap between initiation and execution.

Well, they'd bring their smelly food and all their diseases and bad driving and gambling, so it'd be just terrible. Plus, those eyes, you can't tell what they're thinking.

Come on now - someone needs a "Generalization" time-out and a seat in the corner.

Shall I bring out the "generalization" hammer and focus it on Pakistan or maybe Syria? Oh oh... how about Lebanon or Lybia! 8:)
