To the other gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered/queer/intersexual members and our allies:

Y'all probably know by now that I prefer rational arguments over catchphrases and buzzwords. That said, I do have some favorite 'homocentric' political buttons from my more active protest days. So....THIS IS NOT A DEBATE THREAD. It is instead a place for you to post your favorite gay-related political slogans. I'll start with a few of mine:

Silence = Death

Not tonight dear...IT'S A FELONY

The Moral Majority is neither

Oh yeah? Come out of the closet and say that!

Equal rights aren't special rights

We are people you know and like

Hatred is not a family value

Real families value gay relatives

I can't think of a single slogan right now. Have you ever seen this character called Daffyd of this show called Little Britain?

He always says "I’m the only gay in the village". For some stupid reason, the only gay catchphrase that I can think of is this stupid one!

Yeah because ther is no evidentiary basis among human cultures, history, biology or physiology, or in the animal kingdom for seperate roles for the genders.

There weren't and you know it. As someone who has been involved with the promotion of gay rights in one form or another for approaching two decades, I know what is or isn't a legitimate slogan - in fact, I have a display case full of them in my office at home. You're intent wasn't to contribute to the actual thread topic - it was to stir up hostility.

Go back and re-read the first sentence in the initial post of this thread. Are you gay/lesbian or an ally of them? No? Then why are you posting crap in this thread?

If you wanted to engage in a thoughtful debate about the real slogans that have been posted, that would be another matter entirely.

But making stuff up just to start a flame war IS off-topic and if you persist, I foresee trouble on the horizon for you.

Perhaps you can tell us why the US gov't shouldn't recognize gay marriage.

Or tell us why it should be illegal.

Whether my life is worth more than yours is a subjective matter; I'm sure that law enforcement worries about doing their job, not about homosexuals specifically; gay people are something that society will have to continue to 'deal with' because we're not going away; and no, I don't want to 'rule your ass' - I simply want to be treated with a little basic respect and equality.

But clearly you don't get that.

Why do the Mods tolerate this bozo day after day. You supended him before, why don't you ban him for good. his disgrace seems to excalate. Everybody who has read this and I have talken to concurs. These posting are worthy of those unregulated forums that consists of blatant racist attacks and profanity ridden sexist and bigotted remarks. (you know, the ones that people leave once they get fed up and come here for logical and reasonable debate and discusion). We all might say stupid crap sometimes but nothing even equal to 1/10 the garbage that MWM1331 spews on a regular basis.

If you don't respond to this post with your thoughts I will post it in the forum. He has deeply affended some of the posters, in fact, I am sure anybody would be affended if they read his posts.
