More than a year on since UKIP made the major breakthrough in politics. It polled more votes than Labour and the LibDems in some regions, it scored 12 UKIP MEPs, had the great backing of chatshow guru Robert Kilroy-Silk, a collection of ex-Tory MPs and the services and money of boxing promoter Frank Malone who stood for London mayor, Clinton adviser Dick Morris and millionaire Paul Sykes. It even got two members elected to the GLA
Then what went wrong . . . Paul Sykes quit to return to the Tories, Kilroy-Silk quit to set up Veritas with the GLA members; Frank Malone quit as well and another MEP Ashley Mote was expelled for alleged housing benefit fraud.
It scored no notable successes in the general elecion accept in Corby (which I don't understand) but still didnt win a seat.
Gadflies and nutters I think Howard described them as - he aint far wrong |

With all respect Chymical three quarters of your glib commentary really isn't worth your effort, let alone our effort in reading it.
The day that you post something of vague interest, will be the day, I will rejoice in the originality of your comment |

His comment had more too it than your brief perusal suggests: he is obviously commenting on the theme which characterises UKIP, nothingness.
The party is dead, you don't even see it on Daily Politics shows brought to you by daytime BBC, which usually scrape the barrel.
The party really isn't worth the ink we're all wasting. |

Well forums are about comment, if you dont like the thread, well dont contribute to it . . . it is simple.
UKIP isnt dead at the moment is still has 10 MEPs and has started some aggressive newspaper campaigning.
I was making an analogy of how the party amde its breakthrough and then started breaking up. Many people probably didnt know about the GLA members of Ashley Mote, so its educational |

I never said what he said was correct, but his implication was subtle and needed to be expanded further. |

Do you believe 10 MEP's means anything or even if they will be able to hold onto them at the next European elections? The party is dead because it is not going anywhere and is almost insignificant at the moment. I agree they will continue to exist, they will not fade away to nothing as some people seem to think, but they will be condemned to do little more than take a couple of hundred votes off the Tory's. |

The Nazis wanted a united Europe, UKIP were defined by not wanting a united Europe.......I don't understand the comparison. |
