Well, it's really for two islands, but it was requested by a few people, and we've noticed that a lot of the "European Politics" topics really fell into a UK-only genre. Most of our European membership is from the UK. Now, if we had quite a few members from Cyprus that really were into Cyprus politics, we'd probably make a subforum for that, too. Supply and demand :-D |

I'm sorry I don't think this is a good idea.
I for one won't be spending much time here, it just further complicates an already slow system of filing. |

If it's not successful, we'll close it. It was requested by more than a few members, so we thought we'd give it a test run. |

As an admin I'm sure you understand the need for simplicity...
Still, no harm in trying. |

Where do I post topics on the UK's relationship with the EU?
No offence to admin, the thought is appreciated, but these subforums are a total waste of time. |

Post them in general European Politics. We just noticed a lot of UK-only things, and some members requested this. Like I said, if you guys don't want it, fine. I'll remove them. |

Its really about 500 islands, but still.
I agree with the need for a UK only forum, not sure if i like it being a sub-forum though- think people will be less inclined to click on it.
Still see how it goes. |

When your a super power you get your own forum.
If greece or cyprus wants its own forum it had best get cracking. |

| May I remind you all that the sub - forum is entitled UK & Eire and the last time I checked Ireland was not part of the "United Kingdom" and we are not a nation of Brits. Thank you very much. |

Technically you are. Genologically speaking there is no major diffrence between the welsh, scotish and cornish. Culturally there are also huge similarites between the four cultures as they all stemed from brittonic celts. |

What thefranzkafkafront said is correct, Ireland is not part of England in a genological sense, the English (even though these kind of racial distinction disappeared decades ago) are "Anglo-Saxons", as opposed to Celts.
Interesting sig, by the way EIRE... |
