If worse comes to worse, that's exactly what I will do. If we end up losing too many rights, than I'm more than happy to call up all the gay guys I know, grab some guns, and start a revolution. We will get freedom, or we will die.

When you say grab some guns, where exactly are you going to get these guns? And how, you're only 13.

While I'll agree that just waving a little rainbow flag once a year at some pride celebration isn't really making an effort, I don't think that 'taking to the streets' will resolve much either. We've marched on Washington how many times now?

I think what's more important is how people conduct themselves in their everyday lives - like being 'out' without making a big deal out of it. We need to be honest about our lives without making it into some dramatic announcement. I try not to hide the fact that I'm in a same-sex relationship, but I don't feel the need to go around telling everyone about it. I had a friend who did exactly that in my former workplace - actually scheduled meetings with co-workers to reveal his sexual orientation to them and made a point of telling people about his boyfriend and all the wonderful plans they had for the future. When the relationship went sour and the boyfriend subsequently took a job at the same workplace at about that same time, my friend had a nervous breakdown and eventually committed suicide - and before he died he did blame part of his breakdown on the fact that he couldn't go back to work and face all the people that he'd been blathering to about his sexuality.

Taking to the streets will get people's attention, but you have to consider what form you want that attention to take. Just because people realize you exist, that doesn't mean they're going to like it or welcome you with open arms. Better to nurture your personal relationships and reveal at an appropriate time and with as little fuss as possible.

Since you are a level headed debater of this subject I thought I would ask for a short list of the rights that gays wish to secure through legislation.

I am of the opinion that gays have certain rights identical to straights and maybe do not realize them or that laws very from state to state(ie;wills,visitation,etc.).

What 'exactly' are the top 10 rights that are denied gays in America. Thanks in advance for your response

I had actually posted an answer to this, before I re-read that you're asking for a list of 'rights' rather than benefits.

I'd say marriage, but there's no agreement over whether or not it's a right. The actual rights denied would seem to be equal protection as a matter of substantive due process. But there is also serious disagreement about whether those apply, either.

I have to bail for the weekend, so I guess someone else will have to answer.

What's with the rights crap? You have the same exact rights as anyone else. No one is proposing we take any rights at all from you.

haha. You will be annhialated. It's not like you will get much support and most gay people I know arent that tough.

If gay people were going crazy wit guns, im sure the state and federal governemnt will be happy to take out as many of you as possible.

Better to just keep on with the parades man.

f**k the parades. I'm sick of the parades. The Constitution orders me to take arms and fight back if the government takes away too many of my rights. It is my duty as an American.

What rights do you think they are going to take away, or have taken away? Honestly? List them out.

It's an infringement upon our unlimited right to contract.

"unlimited right to contract"? Is this some new libertarian buzz word or something? There is no unlimited right to contract.

There are innumerable things you can not contract - can you contract yourself into slavery?

Correction: The Declaration of Independence.

I almost cried when I read this... "new libertarian buzzword? For the love of liberty, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! It has always been an inalienable right and always will be. Read the Bill of Rights, or watch Badnarik's class on the Constitution.
