I don't have as much info as some here but I'd like to voice my opinion of how the spase program should advance.
I think the best solution for any space exploration should be a world event.
It shouldn't be about competition between different countries!
If all the knowledge the Europeans Russians, Americans etc were brought together and studied my guess wwould be that overall space exploration would advance quite quickly.
And the funds could be shared wich brings me to my next point.
I don't think it is vital for every mission to use a big space shuttle.
AS seen by the recent private tests a smaller ship could be used to send a few people up to a space station.
All experiments and missions could be done on that space station.
The spaceships could be just used as transportation tools.
For bigger hauls a larger ship could still be used just not for every mission which would save a lot of money!

A massive reorganization has begun at NASA. NASA Administrator Mike Griffin has begun the process by sending out formal notices to more than 50 senior NASA managers aprising them of pending changes in their job titles.
One person has already resigned. Associate Administrator for NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, Adm. Craig Steidle, tendered his resignation today effective 24 June 2005. " |
