I am absolutely astounded that Shapelle Corby, a 28 year old beauty student from Australia is facing the death penalty in Indonesia for allegedly trafficking over 4 kg of canabis into Indonesia. This charge is an utter joke, here are the facts:
1. Shapelle Corby does not have ANY priors
2. Marajuana has a lower street value in Indonesia then it does in Australia so what is the point of taking that much to sell unless your going to smoke it over a 2 week holiday, pretty ridulous.
3. Shapelle has NOT had a fair trial, a prisioner from the Australian Prision System gave evidence for which he was later stabbed stating that she was a unwilling "mule" who did not know anything about the canabis and that it was planted. This evidence has been dismissed.
4. The only thing Shapelle is guilty of is not locking her bag, she has paid for this by spending several months in shi**y conditions in a bali boghouse prision.
5. Indonesian police failed to fingerprint the body board bag that contained the drugs, there by demonstrating incompentence and a lack lustre attitude.
The Australian government gave over 1 billion dollars of aid to Indonesia after it was hit by the tsunami. I truly believe that we should be doing all we can to get that young lady out of there, there is not enough evidence to convict her, there are too many loose ends and as a cop, I believe she is innocent. As for the bali 9 caught with herion strapped to their bodies, they deserve the firing squad as they have blantently violated and disrespected indonesian laws, it is time to pay to pay the piper.
However Shappelle is innocent or at least enough has not been done to prove her guilt. |

Ok:
1. Not having any priors does not mean you are not guilty of the crime you are currently on trial for.
2. Agree exept in the case of Hydroponically grown plants which are higher grade and have a substantially higher street value in Indonesia. The drugs she was carrying was grown hydrponically.
3. Fair or not she has to abide by the legal system of the country she is in. She should have known the law befroe she got there. Crying fowl after the fact is no defense. And the 'source' she used for her defence was all heresay. None of it could have been proved independently.
4. Let me ask you this. If your bag suddenly felt 4.1kg heavier than when you boarded the plane and looked a hell of a lot bulkier. Wouldn't you think something was wrong and at least check your bags prior to going through customs. Also when asked to open her bags she refused. Whenever I travel, if someone wants to open my bags I let them. Refusing to do so only thows suspision on you.
5. Agree they should have done more forensics but this isn't CSI. The defense should have done a better job to through doubt on the prosecutions case. Which they didn't.
Sorry but your arguement doesn't stack up. She's guilty and will now serve her punishment. Oh and she shouldn't be allowed to come back to Asutralia to serve her time. She committed the crime in a foreign country and that's where she should serve her sentence. |

| Yep, I agree- based on the evidence it looks like she is guilty, her defense had no proof in regards to the conspiracy that she was being used as a mule. If you screw up, you do the time. |
