Can't help but be worried by their constant posturing....
They are led by a regressive, ultra-conservative religious fundamentalist.
They have plenty of money.
They have legions of fanatical followers.
They have strict rules enforcing the place of women in the Church and society.
They have a 200 year old program of expansion and evangelism, want the whole world to join them and historically have no qualms at all about splashing a lot of heathen blood around to get there.
Surely their next step is to weaponize. |

please read the forum rules, we do not support nor do we allow attacks against religious beliefs here on crossfire,
Extremist/Racist Posts
To maintain the status quo of the board there are rules that must be observed so that forum members do not abuse each other in their passion for their issue or ideology. One of these rules regards Extremist Rhetoric. Blanket statements condemning an entire demographic will not be tolerated. Threads posted for such reasons will be locked. A blantant post directed at a selected group for faults they cannot help, (I.E. Religious beliefs, Physical, Mental, Color, etc...) will probably result in being banned from the site.
now as for your posts, lets see;
Quote: They are led by a regressive, ultra-conservative religious fundamentalist.
now they are led by an individual who wishes to uphold the traditional doctrine of the church
Quote: They have plenty of money.
as do most churches, not to mention that the Cathollic church is in huge amounts of debt
Quote: They have legions of fanatical followers.
as do most churches, you would think an set of beliefs that impact your entire life would be pretty importatn to some people wouldn't you
Quote: They have strict rules enforcing the place of women in the Church and society.
well again if this is an established doctrine it wouldn't make sense for a sacred institution (which is supposed to transcend the profane world) to change due to changes in the profane world.
Quote: They have a 200 year old program of expansion and evangelism, want the whole world to join them and historically have no qualms at all about splashing a lot of heathen blood around to get there.
you would think that they would want to expand wouldn't you, after all if your belief is that salvation occurs through the accepting of jesus then you would probably want to help people along the path of salvation, also the blood shed you talk about is the product of actions taken by states acting in the name of god not the actual church itself.
Quote: Surely their next step is to weaponize.
well first off the Vatican is only an observer seat at the UN so they couldn't sign the Non proliferation treaty
second this is probably the most radical statement I have ever seen, lets think about this. You are saying because the church is led by a conservative individual and has a strict doctrine that they will develop wepons of mass destruction???????

Though it would a delicious irony if the Pope did nuke everyone. After all these years trying to decide who would start the nuclear apocalypse that would kill us all, America? Russia? Pakistan? India? Britain? France?
Nope, it's the Pope. God wants everyone in heaven so he can shut early and go for a pint down the pub with satan. |

| I don't think the Vatican needs to weaponize... look at the Crusades... the popes just say these such and such people are evil and are killing Christians and thousands of Christians march towards Jerusalem in the name of the Vatican... |

first off you can't prove that Iran is trying to force "Islamization" on others although Im not going to argue that too much.
but from wikipedia:
Mullahs are Islamic clergy who have studied the Qur'an and the Hadith and are considered experts on related religious matters in this religion.
now when you say that Muslim scholars need to be feared because they would use nukes, I am pretty sure that is a pretty damn good stab at a religion and is entirely unwaranted |

Well Chris, if they would want to destroy you you'd also be afraid, but however, you don't know how is it to live this way. |
