Condoms don't stop AIDS, they reduce the risk. Besides, most prostitutes are paid more if they don't insist on a condom, which I doubt even you can blame on the Vatican. :roll:

True, but it still wouldn't be fair to blame the entire thing on the Vatican. Their position on birth control is outdated, but it doesn't look like this pope will do much to change it.

But they are in a large way responsible, its not that there position is outdated- if thats there believe then they are entitled to it- its the way they go out of their way to stop people learning about safe sex and spread lies about condoms.

Who knows how many millions of people would have been saved already if the people in Africa were at the very least premitted to know the truth about AIDs and how to protect themselves from it.
Instead we have the Vatican dictating what they can and can't know.

While Catholism is spreading rapidly, the lack of knowledge can also be attributed to general ignorance. The Vatican may be powerful, but I doubt they are quite that powerful.

The Vatican is that powerful- they have a church in every village in some places. Have all those churchmen telling the people the same thing then of course they will believe it.
