| I am trying to decide whether it is funny or pathetic that so many none Catholics are so critical of a faith they know and care so little about. |

I know enough. Im a Chrisitian(technically) and Catholics are just silly christians all obsessed with tradition and ceremony and not with aleviating human misery...
The Pope is a political figure. Like your President or our Prime Minister. He is a man of great influence and therefore i care deeply about the man chosen for the job.
I wonder why they dont just spina bottle? Surely God would guide the discision? Why does man have to make the choice? How indirect does the old man want to be? |

When that Catholic Church is in a large way responsible for killing 85 million Africans then I would think its a good thing. |

Tell me how the sexual revolution has benefitted society over the last 40 years.
Explain how premarital sex is a positive contribution to the world society?
How many of the Africans who have contracted AIDS are practicing Catholics?
It is not religion but lack of religion which has caused these problems. |

No its the Catholic church telling people that condoms do not stop Aids that has helped this problem.
It is the Catholic church encouraging African governments to stop all sex education for it citizens that has only made this problem worse. |

Condoms don't stop AIDS, they reduce the risk. Besides, most prostitutes are paid more if they don't insist on a condom, which I doubt even you can blame on the Vatican. |

Dont be pathetic.
Condoms are not the solution to the AIDS problem.
Besides even if condoms were used - it certainly wouldnt mean that AIDS would be prevented from spreading. Condoms are barely a guarantee - there is always a risk.

You can blame them for telling people condoms do nothing to stop AIDs and there are little holes which the AIDs virus can travel! |

People are now free to enjoy their lives. And thats what life is about. Having a f*cking good time! ^^

Who does it hurt? If your not careful you can get pregnant or an infection but thats always been true. People have always f*cked. Its just that people stopped hiding it!

No idea how many are catholics. But it must be a good few. Apparently its a big problem in Nigeria.
And Nigeria has no lack of religion or prayer but id still rather live in Europe! |

True, but it still wouldn't be fair to blame the entire thing on the Vatican. Their position on birth control is outdated, but it doesn't look like this pope will do much to change it. |

But they are in a large way responsible, its not that there position is outdated- if thats there believe then they are entitled to it- its the way they go out of their way to stop people learning about safe sex and spread lies about condoms.
Who knows how many millions of people would have been saved already if the people in Africa were at the very least premitted to know the truth about AIDs and how to protect themselves from it.
Instead we have the Vatican dictating what they can and can't know. |

While Catholism is spreading rapidly, the lack of knowledge can also be attributed to general ignorance. The Vatican may be powerful, but I doubt they are quite that powerful. |
