Thats not true.
Empires will always exist as long as there is lust and greed in the eyes of men...sorry for the religious BS preaching, but in this instance it accually fits. |

First time I agree with you.
There will always be Empires, as long as there are armies. |

Empires have perished, talk of this "new empire" is just deliosional and all in our heads. As much as I liked reading about the days of empires i will admit that there are no empires. There are nations but there are no empires. |

USA is an empire. Not a territorial empire but still a hegemonistic empire based on a vast inter connected network of military bases, business interests, media and bankers out to make everyone subject themselvs to American interests. The unipolar world....But this model is now being defeated...and in the vanguard fighting the american hegemony are the patriotic Iraqis.  |

| I do not think there will ever been another lone superpower like the U.S. After China and India catches up and the European Union more organized and more integrated(economically), world power will be in the hands of at least 4. |

hoowee, China has cheap labour, EU has old money, india has cheap labour...We are only about 100 some odd years into the industrial revolution and countries without resources have just been conveniently sucking them from other nations.
Canada and venezuala have ALL the worlds oil!, Canada has 60 percent of the worlds fresh water. Canada, china, brazil and africa have the majority of the worlds lumber, Canada and africa have the majority of diamonds, africa has the majority of gold. ........can you see a patern here, the countries with the most are the countries with the least, other nations can only continue to produce using OUR raw materials or keep on purchasing on a IOU basis, afterall, mexico is in the neighborhood for cheap labour, canada has unlimited land to settle on, america sure does like to buy. It seems that the countries with the most are given the least attention. |

Mao called for revolutions by the world's oppressed to kick butt of the imperialists. He failed. But 30 years after his death, the world is getting united to kick the Yankee butt....
The sole super power is the sole bully. I for one, do not understand why must East Asia accept their IOU's any more. The bully has no righteousness but still possess the biggest gun. Thanks to the Iraqi heroes, the world can now see the impotence of the bully. |

| In a few hundred years, the centers of power will be North America, East Asia, Europe and perhaps a resurrection of Russian power. Tensions will build among the power centers as they march towards regional dominance. Then we will have WWIII. Nukes and other WMD's will destroy entire cultures and people. The winner of that power struggle will claim Hegemony over the entire world. |

| Americans will decide who the has the power, either by our action or our inaction. Right now that power lies in the hands of congress, special interest groups, and lobbyists. Is it safe there? |

The slow changes brought about by congress isn't a safety net, its just asloer fall to the ground. Look down, its still coming.
Power should be in the hands of America or even Israel. But it won't come while there is a congress. |

I don't realy know if we can become an Empire, the Jews are too divided between themselves. |
