From my reading of this and other forums, I come away with the conclusion that Americans in large part distrust central governments. The smaller the better. Some may even hate strong central govt except perhaps for defence and military.

Let me make it clear that in China, the number one fear of every one is a weak central government. Whenever the center is weak, the country (China ) goes into pieces accompanied by chaos and bullying by local tyrants. Chinese can live peacefully only when the central government is strong.

This is only one aspect of what I call East is East and West is West. It is no wonder that Americans will forever criticise China to no end because China and America are at two ends of the spectrum.

Let me make it clear that Americans should not criticise others just because others are not like you. Americans never make an effort to understand others and do not make any effort to understand the complexities of the world. That is why, your country will also not be liked as long as Americans keep putting your noses in others affairs w/o even trying to understand others.

Propaganda can make people think crazy things. Chinese people may THINK they want a totalitarian state, but if they read George Orwell's 1984, or just stuck their head out of Mao's ass for a second they would realize how much they are usurping their own freedom.

And America hardly has a weak central government. Maybe the reason that places like Taiwan and Tibet want to not be part of China is that China is an oppressive nation that doesn't give a sh*t about human rights. No part of America WANTS to seperate, you must understand.

Places like Puerto Rico even want to join.

I would say that this is true. It's the All-American viewpoint. It's the basis of the Constitution. It's the American way.

Who does not want to join the rich? And if China is a truly effective totalitarian govt, things would have been better. Things are not as good as it could because of inertia. It is difficult for the central govt to get things done at the provinces. China needs to be more totalitarian not less.

Very patronizing and naive. The Chinese could just as easily claim that Americans THINK they need limited government, but what they really want is totalitarianism.

ad,

both USA and aussies are nations of immigrants and yet speaks so different. Aussies can speak with enough nuances that it is difficult to be angry with aussies but so easy to be angry with or even send planes to USA . why is that so? is it due to the asian influence of the middle way or is it aussie do not carry the disease of being the world sole super power?

pimpkie, Funny you should bring up Propaganda,
America spouts out more propaganda than the nazes and it's people believe it more than libs believe Michel Moore.

The fact is.....America want it's people to believe other nations are horrible places to live. They want to install "democracy" just like they installed Sadam. They want to alienate Cuba for fun, and they want to Kill off all oposition to their best bud Israel. They "player hate" china, soley becasue china holds their future over them, along with trillions in debt, and they want to protect Taiwan, to make up for the fact they couldnt protect vietnam,,,
They want to keep the wars going so the dust doesnt settle. They want you to believe that america is number one, when it doesnt even reach in the top ten of the most important social issues.
It wants to smoke screen you with Terri while it kills children in iraq, and they use their Christian Basis to hate monger on the mid east and crush freedom like Gay marriage.
Sorry I generalized alot and its hearsay, but I get my point across and it is to the point.

What? You misread my post. Pimpkie quite patronizingly asserted that though Chinese people think they want authoritarian system, they actually want limited government. My statement was simply the reversal of that.

The point being, don't tell other people what they want. If someone wished to live under authoritarian rule, they should be able to.

thing is desa blows of the tens of millions killed my the CCP because he feels it was the only way China could be stabilized. Yet on the other hand he reams us for the deaths we caused in Iraq.....far, far fewer in number and all for the same cause of "stabilization".

I don't buy any of that "stabilization" horse s**t, niether ours in Iraq or the CCP's in China. The slaughter of innocent people has never lead to "stabilization".

But I do find desa's statements interesting.....it's always easy to hate when it conviently fits your world view huh?

s**t I know it's easier for me
