Why did Americans want to kill Giuliana Sgrena?
I’m going mad with what American soldiers did in Iraq! Last week they opened fire at the car carrying Italian hostage Giuliana Sgrena released by Italian military intelligence officer Nicola Calipari. Well, I share the opinion of Giuliana Sgrena who told that it was no accident that American soldiers attacked their car on their way to the airport. The 56-year-old journalist Giuliana Sgrena is a war correspondent at Italian left-wing Il Manifesto. In her articles, she was openly preaching down the war in Iraq and the presence of American troops there. That is why the kidnapping of Giuliana Sgrena was first thought to be mistake. The rescuer was quick enough. Everything was fine until American troops opened fire at the car and shot down Nicola Calipari who had covered Giuliana Sgrena with his body (this saved her life - she was only wounded in her shoulder). The driver told later, that it was no mistake. The American soldier knew who they were firing at and were purposely aiming at the Italian journalist. It has been said a lot in the Internet about the tortures of American soldiers over the prisoners in Abu Ghraib, the forcible donation of organs from the Iraqis (even from children!), the illegal drug trade and kidnapping of civilians. That were exactly the cases Giuliana Sgrena was investigating while in Iraq. After she was kidnapped, many people though that were Americans who eliminated her though the very Americans blamed the Moslems. It looks like Sgrena was success to dig something out - indeed, it was really very close to her. She would have been dead long ago but for the courage of Nicola Calipari. Though, Sgrena has lost all the evidence of the US troops’ riotous behavior in Iraq. According to Sgrena, Americans sought carefully through the car before the emergency ambulance arrived (it took them about 20 minutes). It looks like we will never know what were the other Rangers’ deeds (besides the ones in Abu Ghraib Prison).
As for Nicola Calipari, he knew too much (Giuliana Sgrena must have told him something). Sure, one can easily intimidate a woman (and make her hold her tongue), but not a professional intelligence officer. Indeed, that is why there was a proof shot into Calipari’s head. According to Italian military experts, it was fired from a handgun, not an automatic gun American soldiers in Iraq armed with.

If that's how it really happened...it's terrible! We also rread about the whole story and we were shocked about how it ended.

Accidents happen in war, I am sure that the American soldiers were not aware of who they fired upon until after the incident.
