so did you report the injustice to your students to the higher ups? write to Beijing if neccessary. I dont think the local bosses dare to do any thing bad to an American.

Oh yeah, I plan on writing after my contract is up though, it's only a few more months and I assure you if I did it now the university may do everything in it's power to make my life uncomforable. I'll wait till I've fufilled my side of our bargin first....but good idea desa :-D

I don't see how you can say that there will be no war. When oil prices start getting really high, the middle east is going to look like a ripe apple. It would be careless of countries to not secure their oil intrests, and I assure you there will be more than one that will do so.

so what is the Chinese threat? that China will compete with USA in the open market over oil and USA unwilling to compete? USA is supposed to stand for free trade , remember?

The threat is when the economic and the military threats combine. There will come a point when both counties will fight in the middle east to control the oil. It's that simple. Yes the threat is economic, but it will turn into a military threat.

no, there will come a point USA will create excuse to start a war with China because USA/japan cannot compete with China on price of oil. China will not start the war but China will again be the victim.
