Mikhail Saakashvili is afraid of popular uprising in Georgia
I am deeply surprised that the political oddballs that came to the top power in Georgia somehow managed to stay there for a whole year while having no rational economic policy. Now we may observe the obligate end of the story. We happen to have a real hair-trigger situation in Georgia as the people are boiling over there. It might easily result into large-scale anti-presidential and anti-authority demonstrations. Thank Heaven the Georgians were taught how to work their will a year ago and even solidified that experience during the similar events in Ukraine. I think the people of Georgia will soon get united and will overthrow their “well-wisher” with the means of his own make.
The threat of public disturbance in Georgia is very urgent but I do not think Saakashvili is longing to say good-bye to his presidency. The only possible way out for him in this situation is a small victory, say, over South Ossetia. I think that is the explanation to the warm welcome of Chechens in Georgia. No wonder, the Chechen orientation is now the main course of Georgian policy. The heads of the Power Departments along with the Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili hold face-to-face meetings with emissaries of Aslan Maskhadov, bring them the aid with weapons and military equipment and give all possible assistance for transit traffic throughout Georgia to Chechnya. In return for the special privileged status of Chechen militants in Georgia, they readily give the stubborn Ossetians to understand that South Ossetia is still the part of Georgia, only deprived of any rights. They have no time to waste. The time is not on the side of Saakashvili.
I heard, Saakashvili was so afraid of the popular uprising that he now has his personal guards numbering 300 Chechens. I think he must be afraid even of his own shadow now. That's a good boy!

without saakashvili the georgia will collapse.he is the only leader who can build a modern country and I think he works well.russians should learn to respect other nations.<<<this is the main problem.

I havent heard anything about the current situation. Perhaps Georgians are simply impatient? What can you do in one year?
