In Europe diesel has never quite had the stimga it does in the US and is seen as relatively clean and cheap. Many people are now using bio-diesel (generally produced from rape seed oil, something that EU farmers produce for subsidy money anyway -_-").
We can grow it ourselves which frees us from supporting monarchies like Saudi Arabia or barely democratic shams like Russia. It is more environmentally friendly and encourages agriculture. The cost of converting a car to accept bio-diesel is quite cheap and im sure the designs could be altered easily if it was available at petrol stations.
So what do you think of it? I see it as a stop gap between fossil fuels and something else(electric, hydrogen or whatever). My uncle in Denmark(bit of a crazy hippy  ) is setting up a bio-diesel plant on his farm and im quite interested in seeing what you think it could mean. |
