winnie wrote: I’ve always wondered why the rest of the world dislikes us so much. I personally felt it when in France. And it was then when I got it. We don’t pretend to be their like and we do this in the most brazen and even insulting for’em way. Young democracies are loving us ‘cause we bring them higher level of life. Yet we should care, especially our high rank diplomats. The careless way is not for a real profi. Our ambassador Young’s withdrawal from Kyrgyzia is proving the fact. My old buddy is working in the mission in Kyrgyzia. It was at their official get-together when the guy relaxed and boozed it up so much as to make a big gaffe. Fancy he threatened our ‘fitty marines will skin that Akaev alive’. ‘That Akaev’ is president of Kyrgyzia. I don’t know what prompted the ambassador to say so. Anyway the local authorities took this verbal diarrhea quite for serious. Sure it was not Young’s best day!
Slightly odd wording but i'd say that U.S.A politician should examine the difference in between
"for the greater good of America(and our economy)"
and
"for the greater good of our race our planet and peace"

The only real solution for global issues is global governance. Organizations like the World Federalist Institute are opening forums where higher-level academic debate is passed on to people with the ability to advocate policy change on a high-level. World Federalist Institute forums are a must-see for anyone who wants their ideas to be heard by prestigious academics and policy-shapers. Be sure to check them out.

With this whole internationalism trend/movement, how do these philosopher-kings/queens get the job? Good papers in academia, appointment by someone, world-wide election?

I have no problem with the American people, but your government is what pisses more than half the world off. And especially when the United States acts like it owns the world and can impose their wishes on everyone else..it gets kind of frustrating.. Oh yeah, and the fact that so many people voted for Bush just makes "the world" lose it. :-|

I cant freakin believe this is still a thread, it stared off by some visitor rambling in bad english, then people commenting and inferring on what they think he/she meant.

I think that winnie needs to elaborate a bit. I understand that she cant speak english well (thanks to Mr Administrator Dave) so lets wait and see if she comeback and explains her point more clearly. I'm sure he'/she has valid points

*is exasperated*

Has Canadian wit been destroyed by American low grade humour?

I think its because you have a trigger happy president. Sure war is alrite, i m not against all war. But when you say you go into a country.....lets take iraq for example..and say your going in for weapons of mass destruction...than once in say you found none, and deny saying so. life above all is important. And if troops went into iraq to save the iraq people, but died in the process...well this makes it seem as if el presedente values iraqs freedum more than his own people.

Now, I'm not very internet savy or anything( I can't stand ready computer screens...) but on many of the forums and chat rooms I've been on some fellow american asks this same question.

And really I haven't really noticed alot hate directed toward americans, I mean obviously there are those who have disagreements with our policy, but all in all I think the same ratio of people here in America have similar feelings, I personally am not happy with our president, or the religious fanatics.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that many foreigners really hate Americans, and if they do I doubt the same people will hate America for the same reaons.

Alright re-reading my post I noticed that I have it spelt in both ways, sometimes in the same sentence...

But either way, america is a Representative Republic, right? or maybe it has a different name, but either way we are a democracy, so in theory the majority of Americans support said policies.

So, again I don't think there is that much anti-American sentiment, its just that the people burining american flags get alot more camera time than those who could care less.

Is this reasonable or am I just dilussional?

Americans saved their ass during WW2, and the French were the ones who started vietnam (one of the main things the USA is criticized for). Maybe just differences in attitudes toward politics and running around naked in public.

The french givernment is like snake.
Once they support you, than they stab you with a knife at your back!
