The Liberals, the Americans and Adscam

Liberals don’t like George Bush from the Deep South,
And they gagged trying to talk from both sides of their mouths,
They hope that this adscam inquiry will not linger,
If they can cancel, delay, stop, postpone or hinder.

Maybe over the Christmas people will just forget,
With parliament closed down and no need to regret,
And adscam already postponed or didn’t you know?
In the Liberal legal jargon of a puppet show.

It might open again next year or the year after,
Is that a whisper I hear or Liberal laughter?
Or will it die a slow death from lack of attention?
Slowly slide away from public comprehension.

In total denial that the status quo might change,
Liberals want power and think this is not strange,
No referendums, recall and no term restrictions,
And definitely no Liberal criminal convictions.

And what to do about our American friends,
Republican/conservatives set all the trends,
Why can’t they see things the socialist or the UN way?
Why can’t they have same-sex marriage for folks that are gay?

I apologize for maybe causing you to think,
But don’t worry; there’s no Liberals going in the clink,
They’ve got their appointees in all the proper places,
And they consider only correct accurate cases.

Left-wing Liberal Ottawa

Is Ottawa just another left-wing conspiracy?
Catering to rogues, refugees and effeminacy,
Kyoto, same sex stuff, adscam and subs that sink,
And when found out by Ms Fraser they just yawn and wink.

And we can’t shake them down and they won’t change their ways,
Absent from parliament, half the time in a haze,
Constantly traveling the world on the taxpayers’ dollar,
And the people behave like they wear a dog collar.

Their itineraries are more important than questions,
Remember Somalia, HRDC or Adscam suggestions,
And parliament is far away when you’re traveling the globe,
No need for answers in a parliamentary probe.

And with parliament closed down they won’t be around,
They’ll just continue to travel and act profound,
While escaped prisoners and terrorists are all coming here,
They know that with the Charter they have nothing to fear.

If we had referendums or recall, they might behave,
Or proportional representation; would they cave?
But stuck in the status quo they’ll stay forever,
‘Cause they know how the system works and they’re clever.
