It seems as if everyone is trying to get hold of nukes nowadays, especially the nutty nations who have reason to be scared of the US Army kicking their door down.
It's only a matter of time before someone uses one. It's an historical inevitability. Where do you think will use it first? My money is on a bunch of mad mullahs taking control of Pakistan and declaring war on India, thus setting the whole of Asia ablaze.......

But what do you think?

Too hard to tell, those mullahs will probably hit America befor they hit india but you never know.

If India and Pakistan don't go at it first, and it comes down to terrorist act, I would imagine that a bomb wouldn't be wasted on anything but the most dramatic situation posible, either Israel or the US, perhaps a port city.

Hitler was mad enough to declare war on the the US at the same time he was struggling with the British Commonwealth and the Soviet Union.
If someone thinks they can wipe out the other side before they have a chance to respond.......

And then there's the religious extremists, who don't give a tinker's cuss whether they die or not, as long as they take a good number of 'infidels' with them.......

My guess is the U.S will get fried first....

They can forget about the missile defence shield and the billions of dollars pricetag...they're supposed to be fighting a war on terror.
Terrorists don't launch missiles, they carry them in neat little suitcases....(I think)....:-)

if North Korea attacks the South, the first nation to attack the North will be China. Just look at the billions that pass between South Korea and China and Taiwan and Chinese and you'll see the chances of any major war involving any Asian power vs another Asian power anytime soon are quite remote.

Thundar as ushual brings up a good point with the whole Mullah in Pakistan thing. I think this definatley has the potential to turn into a major war. Thing is that India had a major military advantage over Pakistan...they beat the s**t outta the Paks in the 73 war, basically had a clear road to Karachi, but then pulled back.
Point is the wars between India and Pakistan have been more for national pride then for serious victory. A total war between the 2 nations could only have one outcome...Indian victory, but then what the hell is Inidia suposed to do with the broken remains of a very hostile Pakistan?

Anyway the Indian and American and quite possibley the Chinese armies would all invade Pakistan before they let an Islamist faction seize power. But if by some chance there was an overnight Islamist take-over of Pakistan then the Indian army would be screaming for the prime minister to athorize a nuclear strike. Not at Islamabhad or Karachi, but at Pakistan's nuclear weapons....the classic "decapitation".

weather or not the PM would authorize such an attack depend on which party is in power....Vajpyee would, I don't think Sighn would though.....

It wouldn't need to be a major war. Just a chance for China to quietly remove Taiwan (since taking it would be quite impossible with their current military) if the US gets tangled up with North Korea. We're playing what-ifs here. *shrug*

LOL.....no I won't Enyon, death of innocents is a tragedy everywhere, including Iraq, Afghanistan, the Occupied Territories, the Sudan the U.S on Sep 11th, etc etc.
however it is the American people who voted for Dubya in a resoundingly convincing election this time around. His policies in Iraq thus far have unfortunately spawned who-knows-how-many Al Qaedas. it is those other Al-Qaedas which have huge potential for catastrophe. THAT"S what I'm afraid of.
