| It is remembrance day here in Canada. A time to remember those who fought and gave their lives so that we would never have to fight again. Our not being in Iraq today pays homage to them. I am proud and thankful to be a Canadian today. |

I was parade Commander for the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in todays parade, it was a very good ceremony. Kind of sad because the lady that sang the national anthem for the parade since 1936-2003 died a month ago. Even in the small town I live in, we still have a big parade
like you said man, "lest we forget" , And I'm always proud to be a Canadian |

Respectfully, I concur, but there is perhaps some need to divert anger at world events away from the american foot soldier. Their politics as fighters is mere simple survival. |

Lest We Forget. Honor the dead or our country will fail.
The best tribute to the brave men who fought and died to protect us is never engage in a war of aggression. Anger is best directed at the decision makers and those who commit war crimes like Kurt Meyer. |

| 47,000 canadians died in WWII, something like 55,000 were severely wounded (not like a little cut or anything). The numbers were similar for WWI as well. For a country of 11,500,000 at the time, Canada's military was powerfull and actually feared by the axis in both wars. Maybe some day we can rekindle our pride :) |

500 died in the boar war
66,000 died in WW1
40,000 died in WW2
1500 died in the Korean war
6 died in the "war on terror"(4 were friendly fire from Americans)
Those Are rough numbers, But they should be fairly close.
Even though at least 3 of those wars are a disgusting play on world politics that resulted in too much blood shed. |

| LOL D@N, the figures for the war on terror are kind of funny. Only 2 have been killed by the actual terrorists :( |

| 1 was killed by a land mine, so maybe it was soviet? the other was by a suicide bomber, so thats 1 confirmed kill against Canadian soldiers. |
