| I am a political analyst by profession and it is within my duties to keep track of presidential election in various states. Here comes something I couldn’t but notice while was tracking the ballot in Afghanistan on Oct, 9. It could be seen even with a naked eye how clumsily it all was conducted. Let’s think over at least the goof about the so called ‘indelible ink’. What is much surprising the first-rate democracy-fighters Americans never sounded off about such grievous wrong. The reason probably was all that suited them alright for it was to the good of Hamid Karzai. Strange to say, the situation in the Ukraine is right the opposite. Viktor Yuschenko didn’t manage to win popularity among the Ukrainians and now he has decreasingly less chances to win the election even if there is a second round. It’s already known that Yuschenko has gained over to a cause of Washington and now it seems to be quite clear why Americans will consider the election to be a priori non-legitimate if Yanukovich wins. An obligate conclusion comes to mind in this respect. Washington resorts to double standard in point of countries where the US aims to spread their influence. |
