there is more then 1 Communist in BC, in fact tomorrow there is Young Communist League meeting for Victoria, and last week we had the Provincial Young Communist League meeting.
And to Americans, we aren't all stuck up Conservatives with a blanket of intolerance wrapped around them. |

Its been 192 years since the last American invasion in 1812 yet people still fear being taken over culturaly. I would apreciate coments from Americans especially.
As a U.S. citizen, I counsel BE VERY AFRAID. |

Canada, really, has nothing to fear.
Sure, the US could hit us economically...of course, what people fail to realise is that Canada and the US are interdependant. You hit us, we'll hit bacl harder. And considering we're cozier with Europe than the US is, we have the world on our side. |

| I would like to know how is America dependant on Canada? We are an insignifican part of their economy the only thing we can do is be mighty annoying if we so choose. |

| I dont know any stats/figures. I do however know the US gets a significant portion of their energy, water, raw materials from Canada. Canadians are a large part of American consumers as well. This is a really stupid statistic that I used in one of my research papers... but Canadians purchase something like 77% of the magazines the US sells on the foreign market. It just shows that Canadians have a huge share of the American export industry. |

We've been good neighbors for a long time.
One would hope a disagreement would never escalate into an armed confrontation. |

| Well, the USA's search for world resources worries us because we have significant resources in virtually every sector from energy to oil. Furthermore, a large and growing number of Canadians do not like being economic prostitues to the US and would very much like to divert our resources to anybody else. What would happen if the worlds largest supplyer of zinc decided to send all of it to india or china? or if we decide to send our large uranium supplies to any other country besides the USA, we could get into a lot of trouble. |

| As far as I know, the US already owns a great deal of Canadian resources,I was taken on a tour of copper mines in Ontario by the owner and he claimed that most ore deposits in Canada were secured by US firms. Is this true? |
